We welcome the Future Jobs and Investment Bill passing the NSW Upper House last night.

Now it must deliver secure, well-paid Union jobs, investment in new industries and a genuine say for workers and their Unions.

The Hunter’s future must be built with us.

🚗 Home care workers have won a fuel allowance increase — now we need to make it permanent.

More than 700 home care workers shared how rising fuel and vehicle costs are affecting them — and together, workers helped win a 4% increase to the vehicle allowance, from $1.01 to $1.05 per kilometre.

But there’s a catch: the increase is only temporary and ends on 28 February 2027.

Home care workers shouldn’t be left out of pocket just to do their jobs. Fuel, servicing, registration, insurance, tyres and depreciation all add up.

Now we need to keep the pressure on the Federal Government.

📣 Tell the Aged Care Minister: make the fuel allowance increase permanent.

Send a message today and tell the Minister why home care workers need fair reimbursement for the cost of travelling to provide care.
