Great to have an experience of a brief stay in Cohaus - very impressive urban cohousing in Grey Lynn, established for 2yrs in inner suburb of Auckland. About 30 apts 1-3bdrms, with inner courtyard gardens, a meeting house, central shared laundry, bike storage, 6 shared vehicles available to be booked by any community member. An impressive multi generational community friendly people who seem to enjoy living there.

NewCoh’s story

NewCoh (Newcastle Cohousing) is drawing on the innovative housing model called cohousing which is growing in popularity around the world. The model has origins in Denmark and is only now being taken seriously in Australia (see the national association, Cohousing Australia). We a group of locals are working together to create - design, research, use our collective skills, energy , fund and spare time - to be able to build a close knit neighbourhood that seeks a healthy blend of privacy and community, which will be the platform to interlink our other bold goals of true sustainable and affordable living.
