๐Ÿ“šโœจ Meet 100 Story Building, a vibrant creative home where children and young people become the heroes of their own stories! Based in Footscray, and working across Victoria, this incredible organisation uses imaginative storytelling, workshops and programs to build literacy skills, confidence and a sense of belonging for young voices across diverse communities.
From comics and poems to audio dramas and published books, participants explore creativity in all its forms, especially those who face barriers to education or opportunity. Since 2009, theyโ€™ve supported more than fifty thousand young storytellers to flourish.
โœจ Weโ€™re proud to partner with 100 Story Building and support their work empowering children and young people with creative skills that last a lifetime.
We invite our community to visit the 100 Story Building website and discover how they are supporting our next generation at https://www.100storybuilding.org.au/.

Happy World Environment Day! ๐ŸŒฟ
Today, 5 June, is a global moment to celebrate our planet and recommit to protecting it.
At the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation, being Ecologically Sound is central to who we are and the work we support. We know that caring for country, caring for community, and caring for the environment are deeply connected โ€” not separate conversations.
This year's World Environment Day is focused on climate action. The signals are clear. And so is the opportunity: people everywhere are choosing to act, and the momentum is real.

We are ๐‘จ๐’๐’ ๐‘ฐ๐’ for National Reconciliation Week 2026! ๐ŸŒŠ
Running from 27 May to 3 June, NRW 2026 invites all Australians to step away from the sidelines and commit to reconciliation โ€” not just this week, but every single day.
For the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation, Walking Together with Traditional Custodians is a pillar of everything we do. This week is a meaningful reminder that reconciliation is a living, ongoing journey built on respect, relationship, and action.
The beautiful artwork for NRW 2026 is called Gaagal โ€” meaning "Ocean" โ€” created by artist Otis Hope Carey. It captures what it looks like when people move together for change, voices rippling outward like water.
What does being All In look like for you this week?

Today is National Sorry Day.
We pause to acknowledge the Stolen Generations โ€” the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children forcibly removed from their families between the mid-1800s and 1980s โ€” and to honour the strength of survivors and their families.
This year's theme is From Sorry to Action. For the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation, Walking Together with Traditional Custodians is a core pillar of everything we do. Today is a reminder that reconciliation requires more than words โ€” it requires accountability, follow-through, and the courage to act.
We stand with survivors, their families, and their communities โ€” today and every day.

๐ŸŒฟ Raising Rarity is a hands on conservation initiative run by Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria that brings together science, horticulture and education to protect some of Victoriaโ€™s most threatened plant species. Through this year long student program, schools work alongside expert ecologists and horticulturalists to grow, monitor and conserve rare native plants facing extinction โ€” building real conservation skills and stewardship from the ground up.
From species discovery and garden setup to planting, maintenance and seed harvesting, students are directly involved in protecting local biodiversity and understanding the urgency of plant conservation.
This program fosters the next generation of environmental champions and helps safeguard Victoriaโ€™s unique botanical heritage. ๐ŸŒฟ

May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.
Every day, people across Australia experience harm within the very spaces that should feel safest: their homes, their families, their relationships. While domestic and family violence can affect anyone, the data is clear: it is overwhelmingly perpetrated by men against women. This month shines a light on that reality, and on the individuals, services and communities working with courage and compassion to change it.
At the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation, we are committed to protecting people from harm. We know that lasting safety doesn't come from silence. It comes from strong, connected communities that are willing to act.
This May, we encourage our community to learn, to listen and to stand alongside those affected as we all have the right to live a life free from the fear of violence and abuse.
If you or someone you know needs support, 1800RESPECT is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 1800 737 732 or visit 1800respect.org.au.

๐Ÿ’› You can help The Reconnect Project expand its impact and help even more Australians stay connected โ€” socially, economically and digitally! Hereโ€™s how:
๐Ÿ”น Donate your pre loved tech โ€” mobile phones, tablets and laptops of any condition go straight into their secure refurbishment process.
๐Ÿ”น Encourage workplaces, schools or community groups to run tech drives โ€” more donations means more devices for people in need.
๐Ÿ”น Choose a repair with purpose โ€” use their quality repair services to give your device a second life, supporting their mission while reducing e waste.
๐Ÿ”น Share this work with your networks to raise awareness about digital exclusion and how connection changes lives.
Your support helps bridge the digital divide, reduce landfill, and create meaningful opportunities for young people learning new skills.

๐Ÿ“ฑ The Reconnect Project is a dynamic social enterprise and charity working to close Australiaโ€™s digital divide by refurbishing donated mobile phones, tablets and laptops and sharing them with the people who need them most. Each device is securely wiped, repaired and given a second life, helping people stay connected with family, essential services, education and work.
But the impact goes deeper โ€” the organisation trains and employs neurodivergent young adults in mobile device repair and workplace skills, helping build confidence, capability and pathways to meaningful work.
Through partnerships with over 170 social service organisations, The Reconnect Project ensures refurbished technology reaches women and children fleeing domestic violence, refugees and migrants, people experiencing homelessness, at risk youth and socially isolated individuals.
