3rd November | Day 1 | 73km
🏃‍♂️ from Circular Quay, Sydney ➡️ Brooklyn (2,500m elevation gain)

Day 2 | 66km
🏃‍♂️ from Patonga ➡️ Yarramalong (2,000m elevation gain)
🏕
Day 3 | 62km
🏃‍♂️ from Yarramalong ➡️ Watagan HQ (2,300m elevation gain)
🏕
Day 4 | 55km
🏃‍♂️ from Watagan HQ ➡️ Queens Wharf, Newcastle (1,300m elevation gain)

The feet are getting itchy just thinking about it, bring it on 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Was it worth the 43km run to get to 125r Lookout on the Great North Walk..? I think so.... 🤔

Today would have been the first day on the Kokoda Track but due to COVID, instead I was at work. Some things are out of our control and certainly not worthy of a complaint. In 10 weeks time, I'll be running 250km from Sydney to Newcastle instead 🏃‍♂️

The fundraiser has almost hit $2k, that's nearly halfway to my goal of $5k!

With the current global environment, travel restrictions and safety measures in place due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty of when borders will reopen, I've had to reassess my goal to run the Kokoda Track. Unfortunately it wont be going ahead as planned.

BUT IT ISN'T OVER! Instead I'll be taking a little extra time to train and taking on a new challenge, closer to home. That challenge will be to run from Circular Quay in Sydney all the way home to Newcastle on the 250km Great North Walk in August 2020. It will be a multi-day, self supported effort (exact time TBA) and a great chance to hit the $10k target for Bowel Cancer Australia.

Today's run through the sand hills of Worimi National Park marked the 1,000th kilometre I've ran since committing to run the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. Why? To raise much needed funds for Bowel Cancer Australia.
