The Tasmanian Government is currently undertaking a Needs Analysis of all Community and Neighbourhood Houses to get a better understanding of the demands on Houses and identify the long-term sustainability needs of the network, which includes us, Derwent Valley Community House.
Closing on June 15th, they are running a 'Community Survey' which takes about 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed here:
https://views-id.typeform.com/NHsurvey
The survey is open to everyone - whether you have volunteered, worked, or accessed a Community or Neighbourhood House, or work for an organisation that partners with Houses, all responses are vital. Even if you have never been to a Community or Neighbourhood House but care about the future of Tasmanian communities, this survey is for you.

Our research shows that being physically active plays an important role in preventing many chronic conditions and diseases. That’s why changes in how people use public transport are of interest to our preventative health and cardiovascular researchers.

From 30 March to 1 July 2026, the Tasmanian Government is offering free travel on buses and ferries across the state. Our researchers are seeking to better understand whether this free fares initiative has led Tasmanians to use public transport more, and how this may be impacting physical activity.

You can support our research by completing our quick 10‑minute survey, open until midnight on 31 July 2026. Participants can also choose to enter a draw to win one of five $100 gift cards.
