Hi everyone! 👋 We’re Mountain Support Services (MSS), a Tasmanian disability support provider, and we thought we’d bring one of our favourite weekly traditions over to the community pages and invite YOU to join in! 🎉

Every Tuesday over on our page, we run our MSS Quote of the Week. It’s a bit of fun that our participants, staff, families, followers and community can all get involved in — and now we’d love to see some new names joining us too! 🙌

💬 HOW DOES IT WORK?

Comment below with your favourite quote. It can be funny, inspirational, meaningful, motivational, completely random… whatever you like! 😂❤️ And yes — you can enter more than once!

Entries stay open until Friday, when every quote is added to our Wheel of Names 🎡 and one person is randomly selected as our MSS Quote of the Week Winner! 🏆

Greetings – Employment Enquiries

We are currently receiving random, local enquiries about employment opportunities at Mountain Support Services.

We have an established recruitment process in place. To find out whether we are currently seeking staff, please save yourself time and email your enquiry, together with your resume, relevant certifications and supporting documentation, to:

Applicants should hold a Certificate III as a minimum qualification, or be able to demonstrate relevant work history and experience within the disability/support sector. If you do hold the relevant certification, it will give you a higher rate on Schads awards; if you do not, you will start on base.

Please note that Mountain Support Services does not operate an open-hire or open-support model.

Under our “Client’s Choice” approach, we generally identify three suitable support workers based on the participant’s requirements, preferences, and support needs. The participant is then involved in selecting the person they believe is the closest match.

This ensures recruitment remains focused on the individual participant and their choice of support provider.

🔵 SEEKING CONTINENCE NURSE / QUALIFIED CLINICIAN – SOUTHERN TASMANIA

Mountain Support Services – New Norfolk / Derwent Valley

Mountain Support Services is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified and experienced Continence Nurse, Registered Nurse with continence experience, or appropriately qualified allied health professional to undertake an NDIS continence-related assistive technology assessment for a participant.

Assessment requirements

The assessment will involve:

✅ Comprehensive bladder and bowel continence assessment
✅ Review of functional and disability-related continence needs
✅ Review of current continence products and their effectiveness
✅ Identification and/or trial of appropriate continence aids and consumables
✅ Skin integrity and associated risk considerations
✅ Recommended daily and annual product quantities
✅ Product and supplier recommendations
✅ Estimated annual consumables costing
✅ Preparation and sign-off of supporting clinical evidence suitable for NDIS purposes

Funding & information available

💰 NDIS funding is available for the professional assessment and associated report writing.

📊 Up to 12 months of existing information on continence product usage, purchasing, and costs can also be provided to the assessing clinician.

This historical information can assist in establishing actual usage patterns, annual product requirements, and realistic cost projections, rather than relying solely on estimated consumption. The participant has been obtaining for more than 30 years, but with current changes, a new assessment is required.

Mountain Support Services has also developed a comprehensive Continence Assessment & NDIS Consumables Costing Template that can be provided to the clinician, or you may utilise your own professional assessment format provided it appropriately addresses the participant's clinical and NDIS evidence requirements.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds appropriate Australian professional registration/qualifications relevant to the assessment
• Has demonstrated experience in continence assessment and management
• Ideally has experience preparing assessments and recommendations for NDIS participants
• Holds appropriate professional indemnity insurance
• Can provide the service professionally and independently

📍 Location: New Norfolk / Derwent Valley, Tasmania
💼 Engagement: Contract / assessment basis
💰 Assessment & report writing funding available
📅 Timing: By arrangement

We would also be interested in establishing an ongoing professional relationship with a suitable clinician for future participant assessments and referrals as required.
