☕ Drinking far too much coffee while juggling a million things at once!

Shannon is passionate about helping people achieve their goals and ensuring every participant receives support that is tailored to their individual needs. She loves building genuine connections, finding creative solutions, and celebrating the achievements of our participants and team members.

Whether she's behind a computer screen, on the phone, out in the community, or brainstorming the next social media post, Shannon is always working hard to help Mountain Support Services continue to grow and provide quality, person-centred supports.

Leanne and Hendrix had a fantastic day out on Saturday, enjoying some fun at Putter's and exploring the Esplanade Playground! ⛳🌳

Not even a little bit of rain could stop Hendy from squeezing in one more playground visit on the way home. 🌦️😄

It's always great to see determination, enthusiasm, and a sense of adventure shine through, no matter the weather. Another day filled with smiles, fun, and wonderful memories! 💙💚

🌞 Monday Motivation 🌞

A new week means new opportunities, fresh goals, and another chance to become the person you're working hard to be.

Don't focus on how far you have to go—focus on the next step. Small actions every day create big results over time. Progress is progress, no matter how slow.

✨ Believe in yourself.
✨ Stay consistent.
✨ Keep showing up.
✨ You've got this.

This Monday, choose determination over doubt and action over excuses. Your future self will thank you for the effort you put in today.

💛 "Success doesn't come from what you do occasionally, it comes from what you do consistently."

Porsha and Mel's adventures yesterday included bowling and car racing! 🎳🏎️

After some friendly competition, they each won a game, so it looks like we might need a tie-breaker next time! 😄

Check out Porsha's winnings to add to her growing collection. What a fantastic day filled with fun, laughter, and great memories! 🌟

Friday Motivation ☕🚀

It's Friday — not just the end of the week, but proof that you made it through every challenge, deadline, and unexpected twist that came your way.

Remember:

Progress beats perfection.
Small wins add up to big results.
The effort you put in today is building tomorrow's success.

As you finish the week, focus on what you've accomplished rather than what's left undone. Celebrate the wins, learn from the setbacks, and head into the weekend knowing you've earned it.

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." — Robert Collier

Make today count. Finish strong. You've got this. 💪✨

Happy Friday! 🌟

✔️Community Access and Social Capacity Building Support – Three-Day Tasmania Break

Participant Support Activity: Escorted Community Access and Capacity Building Program
Duration: 3 Days / 2 Nights
Locations: Strahan, Tasmania and Cradle Mountain, Tasmania
Support Purpose
This planned three-day supported community access program is designed to provide both the participant and primary carer with a structured break from routine while delivering therapeutic social and community participation opportunities. The participant experiences vision impairment/blindness and requires active support to safely access unfamiliar environments, engage with the broader community, and develop confidence in social situations.
Day 1 – Travel and Community Engagement (Strahan)
The participant will be escorted to Strahan, with support provided throughout travel, orientation, navigation, and community access. Activities will include visiting local businesses, cafés, tourism outlets, and community spaces. Support staff will facilitate conversations with members of the public, hospitality staff, and local business operators to encourage social interaction and communication skills.
The participant will be supported to:
● Navigate unfamiliar environments safely.
● Engage in conversations with community members.
● Build confidence when accessing public spaces.
● Develop decision-making and self-advocacy skills.
● Reduce social isolation through positive community experiences.
Day 2 – Community Participation and Reflection
While remaining in the Strahan region, the participant will attend local attractions, retail outlets, and community venues. Discussions will focus on social challenges experienced by the participant, barriers to inclusion, strategies for managing anxiety in public settings, and improving confidence during interactions.
Support staff will encourage:
● Independent participation where appropriate.
● Problem-solving during real-world social situations.
● Communication with unfamiliar people.
● Increased confidence in community settings.
● Development of social resilience and adaptive skills.
Day 3 – Cradle Mountain Wellbeing and Nature-Based Supports
The participant will travel to Cradle Mountain for a structured wellbeing and reflection day. Nature-based activities provide opportunities for emotional regulation, stress reduction, sensory engagement, and supported discussions around personal goals and social development.
Activities may include:
● Accessible walking experiences.
● Guided environmental exploration.
● Discussions regarding social participation goals.
● Reflection on recent community interactions.
● Development of future community access strategies.
Expected Outcomes
This support activity aims to:
● Increase community participation skills.
● Improve confidence when interacting with unfamiliar people.
● Enhance independence within public environments.
● Reduce social isolation.
● Improve emotional wellbeing through meaningful community engagement.
● Strengthen self-advocacy and communication skills.
● Provide short-term respite and wellbeing benefits for both participant and carer.

It’s a lot of driving but certainly open discussion is important and a growth tool .

💆‍♂️✨ Richard's Massage Day! ✨💆‍♂️

We think the photo says it all... does Richard look relaxed or what? 😌

Richard enjoyed some well-deserved time in the massage chair, taking a moment to unwind, relax, and enjoy a little bit of self-care. Sometimes it's the simple things that bring the biggest smiles!

And to top off a great day, Richard treated himself to some KFC for lunch. 🍗😋 A relaxing massage followed by a tasty lunch sounds like the perfect combination!

It's wonderful to see Richard enjoying the things he loves and taking time to relax and recharge.

Looking pretty comfortable there, Richard! 😊💚
