Global Village Learning

Global Village Learning Empowering learners to create communities that postively impact the world. What could these communities achieve?

“Young people have far greater capacity than we give them credit for.”

The underestimation of their creativity and capacity to make an immediate and direct positive impact on the world around them, is widely held by educators, parents, the media, employers, politicians and as a result of everyone else’s low expectations, this view is also shared by the vast majority of young people. Imagine an e

xtensive network of small learning communities where each person is well known, with the freedom, flexibility and autonomy to focus on magnifying the ideas and passions of learners to build a better world, using enterprise skills to bring their plans into reality, supported with access to resources, caring and capable mentors and genuine experts in their fields over multiple years. We provide learning opportunities for ELC through to Year 8 students. We plan to cater from ELC though to year 12 by 2026. Global Village Learning is one of 4 independent Montessori schools in Victoria and currently holds primary, seconadry registration as well as an early childhood education (pre-school) license. It is the only Montessori primary school in Victoria that is purpose built on sustainable principles. The school is located in New Gisborne (Macedon Ranges Shire), a picturesque country town graced with tree-lined streets, nestled at the foot of Mt Macedon. It occupies a 10 acre site on Barringo Road, within walking distance of Gisborne station and about forty-five minutes drive from Melbourne.

Big moment for our community.

Pip, our Chief Learning Architect, recently took the stage at TEDx Burleigh Heads ED.

We’re grateful to have her leading and shaping the thinking at Global Village Learning as we explore the future of learning and AI.

It’s happening… our new Learning Hubs are arriving! 🙌💚

These incredible spaces are more than buildings—they’re the next step in creating wonder-full environments where our learners can explore, collaborate and bring their ideas to life.

At GVL, we design spaces that empower young people to take ownership of their learning journey—and this is just the beginning! 🌱

There’s something pretty special about watching young people follow what sparks their curiosity.

Here, learners are exploring design, problem-solving and creativity through hands-on work — experimenting with tools, materials and new techniques as they go. From shaping glass to refining their ideas, every step is about building confidence, independence and real-world skills.

This is what learning looks like when passion leads the way.

🌱 Ready to reimagine what education can be?

Global Village Learning is not your typical school — and we’re not looking for your typical teacher. We're on the hunt for a passionate Learning Guide to join our Entrepreneurship & Social Impact Hub in 2026. 🚀

Here, learners co-create their journey. Guides ignite curiosity, spark change, and walk alongside young people as they shape a better world.

💫 If you're a rebel educator with a heart for impact, let’s talk.

The Old Castlemaine Gaol will be open on Tuesday 27 January as a heat refuge for anyone needing a cool, calm place to rest.

Please remember to:
- Keep cool
- Stay hydrated
- Bring any resources or supplies you may need with you

We’ll be here with a laugh, a chat, and a place to sit, breathe, and take a break from the heat.

If additional space is required, the Town Hall will also be open.

Take care of yourselves and each other. ~ Pip, Ruben and Lisa

The amazing crew from West End Resilience have created an online space for people who are looking to provide support to the wider community impacted by the recent fires. A message from the WER about the Notice Board:

🤝 West End Resilience: New Volunteer Notice Board

We know many of you want to help those affected by the fires. To connect neighbors informally, WER has launched a Volunteer Notice Board!

View or join here:
https://www.westendresilience.org/offersupport

How it works:
* Offer Help: List the practical, informal support you can provide over the next few weeks (e.g., transport, cleaning, tools, or a spare hand).
* Be Contacted: By signing up, you agree to let neighbors in need reach out to you directly.
* Stay Updated: Please update your post if your availability changes so the board stays accurate.

Other ways to help:
The board also links to existing projects like the Castlemaine Meal Train. If you prefer to help in those areas, please sign up via their direct links.

Thank you for being such a generous and connected community. ❤️
