Thank you Cherin for writing the following lovely report for us this week. 😊

Saturday 1 August 2026

The New Farm parkrun on Saturday 1 August 2026 saw the volunteer roster proudly taken over by Club KT, bringing together a fantastic team—many of whom were participating in parkrun for the very first time.

From a volunteer’s perspective, the morning was a great reminder that every successful parkrun relies on collaboration, coordination, and a shared commitment to ensuring the event runs safely and efficiently. Every position—from marshalling and timekeeping to barcode scanning and finish token support—plays an important part in bringing the event together.

Another highlight of the Club KT takeover was the encouragement shown throughout the volunteer team. Experienced team members were on hand to guide new volunteers, creating a welcoming environment where everyone could contribute with confidence.

No two parkruns are ever quite the same. Throughout the morning, people were communicating, problem-solving, and supporting one another to keep everything running seamlessly.

If you’ve ever considered volunteering, we’d love to have you join us. No experience is necessary, training is provided on the day, and there’s an opportunity for everyone to get involved.

Thank you to everyone who generously gave their time this week and whose dedication and commitment helped make another successful New Farm parkrun possible. We look forward to seeing everyone again next Saturday—whether you’re running, jogging, walking, or volunteering.
