A massive thank you to all that attended the 2025 Billy Cart Rally, and to our Rally and Region Team for their organisation and support of this event!

Did we have some spills? YES
Did we have some thrills? YES
Did we break a few carts? YES
Will everyone be back again next year? YES

WE ARE RACING!

Steve and I conducted a final site walk over this morning. Even with the predicted storm this afternoon, the track and surrounds will be suitable for racing. The weather forecast for Sunday is for sunshine, with a top of 31 degrees.

Some final housekeeping matters:

✅ Attendees with carts are requested to use the Council gate entry off Billabirra Circuit (see attached photo). This entry is just west of the rear Parklands entry (marked with the number 74). Please do not collide with the blue Council water meter marker! All persons parking in this location are requested to park to the right hand side of the log as seen in the left hand side of the attached photo.
✅ Attendees without carts are to enter the Parklands site from Beaudesert Nerang Road, and utilise the marked carparks. If you walk to the western end of the Parklands, you will pass the toilet block and community garden, and come up to rainbow bunting. Follow the bunting to the left, and you will come into the Rally site. Please be mindful that this is a grassed track, which does have an uneven step at the start. Suitable footwear is advised. Please see the second attached photo, which details the parking, toilet and Rally site entry locations.
✅ Group Leaders that are yet to provide final rider names are requested to email Steve as a matter of priority.
✅ All attendees are advised to bring sufficient water & food, sunscreen, suitable headwear etc.
✅ Cart scrutineering will commence at 8:30am for the morning session (Joeys & Cubs), and again at 12:30pm for the afternoon session (Scouts, Venturers and Adults).
✅ And lastly, we do ask that attendees remain on site until the end of their session, to allow for the medal presentations.

Rally Update as at 27.11.2025:

✅ Blanket badges
✅ Race medals
✅ Keys from Council to access the site
✅ Marquees for shade, administration and first aid tent

🌦 Weather Check - there are still indications of storms over the next 2 days!

✅ A site walk over was conducted this morning, with the track area ready to race. It's the other flat areas that are holding a little moisture! More rain may influence our ability to race.

A final site walk over will be conducted on the morning of Saturday 29 November. All attending Leaders, and their Group Leaders, will be advised of the final decision via email and social media.

Rain rain go away, come again another month!

6 DAYS TO GO!

Hopefully the final check in before the 2025 Billy Cart Rally!

✅ All riders MUST wear the minimum safety equipment, which includes a cycling helmet, long sleeved shirt or jumper, long pants, and boots or shoes (no thongs, sandals, or bare feet). Optionally, riders can wear knee and/or elbow pads, gloves, with goggles worn after official approval.
✅ Attendees bringing marquees, carts and equipment are requested to enter the site from Billabirra Crescent. There will be two open Council gates, clearly marked with banners.
✅ All other attendees are requested to carpool where appropriate, and park in the general carparking available within the Parklands (entrance off Beaudesert Nerang Road).
✅ This is an outdoor event, conducted on Council land. Attached is a screenshot from a 7-day weather forecast. The Rally Team is hoping, praying, crossing fingers (and whatever other methods come to mind), that this forecast is wrong!
❌ If the thunder and lightening (very very frightening) does remain, this event may be cancelled. Rally Team members will conduct a final walk over the site prior to the event. All attending Teams will be advised via email and social media if a cancellation is called.

14 days until the 2025 Rally!

🏁 Does a cart go faster when painted red, or is no colour better? Thanks to Coomera Scout Group and Greenbank Scout Group for posting photos of the preparations!

🌦 We are hoping this current rain disappears a few days before the Rally. A wet track may result in this year's event being postponed. Whilst we don't wish to disappoint our riders, the Rally is using Council land, which must be returned in the condition as provided.

🌦 The 14-day weather forecast shows a mix of sunshine and rain. Does anyone know of a good sun spell?
