The event is at Boxwood Hill, Wednesday 3 June, 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Morning tea (from 10.00 am) and lunch will be provided at this free event. Cultural kaarla events are one of our favorites. This year we collaborated with SAC Rangers , Southern Aboriginal Corporation , including the mooditj new yorgas team, to share the opportunity of learning from and with Nowanup Elders.

We practiced across different conditions and vegetation types, raking out from many trees and beautiful plants to save these from fire, while burning out dead vege and renewing Boodja. Really proud of our Nowanup Rangers and feeling prepared for our Peniup fire project.

A really solid effort from everyone involved and many thanks to South Coast Natural Resource Management for making this possible.

A great day on country with our good friends Sarah Comer and Megan Dilly from DBCA setting up Kwongan monitoring sites in our collaborative burn sites in Peniup Reserve. A major focus of these burns is Protecea ( Banksia and friends) regeneration to provide nectar for the web of life.

Big job for our rangers with Bush Heritage Australia starting a 45m walkway over a creek to prevent the spread of dieback on the newly constructed Red Moort Walk trail.

A nice haul yesterday as we processed our locally picked seed for Fitzgerald Biosphere Groups farm waterway restoration projects. 💚 Exciting potential in those boxes ☺️

Nowanup Rangers would like to send a big thank you to Noongar Land Enterprises Group for their hospitality and organization of the ranger forum last week. Rangers from 12 Nyungar teams attended , yarned, shared projects, challenges and accomplishments, learned from elder Oral MGuire and left in solidarity to keep building the network stronger and work together.

Djiripen Koort 😊 A beautiful collaboration with our wonderfully supportive neighbours. It's been an exciting end of year to see this Springs growth and plan a future with elders for inclusion of more culturally important species. Well done Bush Heritage Australia , Greening Australia and Rangers.
