Our Concept to Creation program kicked off last night!

James Lush set the stage, followed by a powerhouse panel with Nick Hudson Founder of The Push-Up Challenge, Australian of the Year 2025 Local Hero Dr Jacinta Vu and Owain Edwards a Co-founder of EntoZyme. Sharing sharp insights and valuable life experiences, they sparked some big ideas and light-bulb moments.
Our participants walked away with a game-changing skill: how to communicate their ideas with impact, and most importantly, their why. 💡
We’re already buzzing for next week, a new presenter, fresh perspective, and another must-have skill to level up.

A big welcome to WA medtech start-up Cytophenix, one of our newest CERI Residents!

Cytophenix is pioneering the next generation of precision, AI-enhanced pathology tests, developing rapid antimicrobial susceptibility tests that deliver results in just 4 hours, helping ensure patients receive the right treatment at the right time, every time.

Their journey with CERI began when their Chief Technology Officer, Sherief Khorshid completed our Investment Readiness Program, making them eligible to join us as a CERI Resident.

We’re thrilled to have Cytophenix on board and can’t wait to see all they achieve in the years ahead.

On 28 August, we opened the doors to a new chapter at CERI with the launch of our scale up incubator, Launch@22!

The event brought together our community of founders, residents, partners, and friends to celebrate this exciting step forward for Western Australia’s innovation ecosystem.

Guests heard from Charlie Bass and Malcolm Steinberg, and met our first Launch@22 residents: Gene S and WaveX. Attendees also had the chance to explore the amazing work of our current CERI resident start-ups.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, your support makes CERI’s mission possible. Here’s to scaling ideas, building businesses, and shaping the future together. 💡

The news last week of Canva’s new US $42 billion valuation is more than a business milestone, it’s a defining moment for Australia’s tech sector. At CERI we see this as inspiration for the next generation of innovators in WA.

This achievement shows what’s possible when bold ideas, global ambition, and long-term investment in innovation intersect. Canva’s journey underscores the growing strength of Australia’s tech ecosystem and the potential for our industries of the future.

WA-founded tech unicorn Canva has added another $US10 billion ($15.5b) to its valuation after kicking off an oversubscribed staff share sale.

We’re thrilled to welcome Nick Hudson, Founder & CEO of The Push-Up Challenge - Australia, as a guest speaker for our upcoming Concept to Creation program.

Nick turned his personal challenges battling depression and recovery from open-heart surgery into fuel for innovation, founding what is now Australia’s largest mental health and fitness event, with over 1 million participants and $70M raised for mental health charities.
