COMMUNITY: CAMP 2026 - Into the Wild 🐍🐒🦛

WHEN: Wednesday September 30 – Friday October 2

Calling all young adventurers… the journey begins this September! 🌿🗺️

Inspired by the excitement, mystery & teamwork of a jungle adventure, this year’s Camp will take children on an unforgettable journey filled with challenges, creativity, connection & fun. Throughout the adventure, campers will work together to complete activities, unlock new stages of the journey & navigate their way through the jungle as a team.

We welcome all school-aged members of our community (year 1 - year 12) to join the adventure, with school-aged siblings also encouraged to come along for the fun.

Camp is a chance for young people to build confidence, make new friends, try new experiences & create unforgettable memories in a supportive & inclusive environment.

There are three different ways your child can join the adventure:

🌿 Full Camp
Stay at Bickley Outdoor Recreation Camp for 2 nights from Wednesday September 30 to Friday October 2.

🗺️ Day Camp
Join us for a full day of activities alongside our Full Campers on Wednesday September 30 &/or Thursday October 1.

🎬 COMMUNITY, this is one to add to your calendar.

We’re helping spread the word about a special screening of No One Rides Alone at the Backlot on this Saturday June 6 @ 6pm.

The 1 hour 40 minute documentary follows Clive Phillips, who was diagnosed with Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN), a rare neurological condition, six years ago.

Since his diagnosis, Clive has been raising awareness, inspiring the rare disease community & fundraising for research through his cycling rides.

Last year, Clive and a group of fellow British Forces veterans took on the incredible Tour de MMN - a 3200km ride along the route of the 1955 Tour de France, 70 years after the first British team completed it 🚴

This is set to be a really special evening and a powerful story of resilience, community & determination.

Sunshine, snacks & a whole lot of fish tales 🐟☀️

Last Thursday, our Purely Socials crew headed down to Ammo Jetty at Woodman’s Point for an all abilities fishing morning with our wonderful friends at Fishability & what a day it was!

With the sun shining & the fish biting, everyone managed to reel something in (skill or luck… we’ll let you decide 👀). Between casting lines, chatting with friends, meeting new people & keeping an eye on Peter the pelican - who got a little too comfortable hanging around our group all morning - there was never a dull moment.

We wrapped up the day with a picnic lunch, coffee in the park & a special birthday celebration for Mackenzie, complete with happy birthday singing & delicious macarons 🎂💛

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for such a fun morning by the water!

Dwellingup 100 is back for 2026 💚

We’re proud to once again be the official charity partner for the 2026 C-Wise Dwellingup 100, happening on Saturday 12 September.

We’ve been part of this iconic WA event since 2013 & it continues to be something really special for our community. Each year, riders, runners, volunteers & supporters come together for a day built on adventure, connection & purpose.

Set in the beautiful Dwellingup trails, this event truly has something for everyone – from mountain bike rides & trail runs through stunning scenery, to the fun Doggy Dash. It’s a celebration of the outdoors and community spirit in one of WA’s most beautiful natural spaces.

As a charity partner, we’re so proud to stand alongside the incredible team who bring this event to life. Together, we’ll continue raising awareness & vital funds for people living with neuromuscular conditions across WA.

Because neuromuscular conditions are rare, they often receive limited awareness and support. As a small local charity with no ongoing government funding, every dollar raised through events like this makes a real & direct difference to individuals and families across WA.

Over the past 15+ years, this partnership has helped raise more than $1,069,166 & we’re excited to keep building on that impact in 2026.

Registrations are now open!
Sign up here: https://loom.ly/suF5GiQ

When you register, you’ll also have the option to choose Neuromuscular WA as your fundraising charity. If you do, our team will be in touch to support you with setup, share ideas & cheer you on every step of the way.

Who knows… we might even see you at the start line 💚

This years National Reconciliation Week invites all Australians to learn, reflect & act on our shared histories, cultures & futures.

This year’s theme, All In, is a powerful reminder that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility. It asks us all to step forward together, not as spectators, but as active participants in creating meaningful, lasting change.

Reconciliation doesn’t happen on its own & it isn’t carried by First Nations peoples alone. It asks each of us to listen, learn & commit to doing things differently, every day.

At Neuromuscular WA, community is at the heart of everything we do. We see every day how much stronger we are when people come together with care, respect & a shared purpose. Reconciliation sits within that same spirit -showing up for each other, valuing every voice & building a more inclusive future for all.
