VRA Rescue NSW Narromine are the primary responders for General Land Rescue and Specialist Rescue in Narromine and the surrounding local areas. Working closely with other emergency personnel, VRA Rescue NSW Narromine are ready to respond at a moments notice, to lend a “helping hand, anywhere, anytime.”

💚Thank a First Responder Day 💚

Today, on Thank a First Responder Day, VRA Rescue NSW Narromine would like to acknowledge and thank all first responders who dedicate their time to serving and protecting our communities.

Whether it’s rescue personnel, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, SES members, RFS personnel, or the many other emergency service responders who answer the call when help is needed, your commitment, professionalism, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

A special thank you goes to our own VRA Rescue NSW Narromine members and their families. Our members give up countless hours of their personal time to train, respond to incidents, provide event medical coverage, support searches, and assist the community whenever needed. Behind every member is a supportive family who shares in that commitment.

Today, if you know a first responder, take a moment to say thank you. A few simple words can mean a lot to those who are there on someone’s worst day.

🚔🚑 DOUBLE DEMERITS ARE NOW IN FORCE 🚑🚔

With the King’s Birthday long weekend underway, double demerit points will apply across NSW from Friday 5 June through to Monday 8 June.

As many people hit the road to visit family, enjoy a getaway, or simply take advantage of the long weekend, VRA Rescue NSW Narromine is reminding everyone to make safety your number one destination.

✅ Slow down and obey speed limits
✅ Wear your seatbelt correctly
✅ Put the mobile phone away
✅ Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
✅ Take regular breaks on long trips
✅ Drive to the road and weather conditions

Our members would much rather spend the weekend with their families than meeting you on the side of the highway. Remember, the goal is to arrive safely—not to see how quickly you can collect demerit points or become the star attraction at a roadside stop! 🚓😅

If you’re travelling this long weekend, take your time, be patient, and look out for one another.

⚠️ DRIVE TO THE CONDITIONS ⚠️

With severe weather and wet conditions affecting many areas, VRA Rescue NSW Narromine is urging all road users to take extra care when travelling.

🌧️ Slow down and drive to the current road and weather conditions.
🚗 Increase your following distance and allow extra time for your journey.
💡 Turn your headlights on and ensure your vehicle is roadworthy.
📱 Avoid distractions and remain focused on the road at all times.

Most importantly:

❗ If it's flooded, forget it. ❗

Never attempt to drive through floodwater. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle off the road, and floodwater may hide damaged road surfaces, debris, or other hazards.

No destination is worth risking your life or the lives of your passengers.

If you do not need to travel, consider delaying your trip until conditions improve.

Stay informed, stay alert, and stay safe.

🚨💚 Training Night at VRA Rescue NSW Narromine 💚🚨

Tonight, members of VRA Rescue NSW Narromine undertook training in the use of Breathing Apparatus (BA) and building search techniques, developing the skills required to safely operate in low-visibility environments.

To add a touch of realism, a little smoke was introduced during scenarios, challenging members to navigate, communicate, and locate casualties when visibility was at a premium. These practical exercises help ensure our members are prepared for the situations they may face when called upon to assist the community.

Members also had the opportunity to practise a variety of lock entry and door-opening techniques, learning different methods that may be required to gain access during emergency situations.

Training like this is essential in maintaining our operational capability and ensuring we are ready to respond when needed.

Of course, while the smoke machines worked overtime and a few doors met their match, we’re pleased to report that no actual buildings were harmed in the making of tonight’s training. 😄🚪

A big thank you to everyone who attended and continues to dedicate their time to developing their skills and serving the community.

🏁🚑 Day 2 of the 2026 NSW State Go Kart Championships is Underway! 🚑🏁

The racing action continues today as competitors from across New South Wales battle it out on the track in Round 1 of the NSW State Series Championships.

Members from VRA Rescue NSW Narromine are once again on site providing medical support throughout the weekend, ensuring drivers, officials and spectators can enjoy the event safely.

We’d like to wish all teams and drivers the very best of luck for today’s racing. May your lap times be fast, your overtakes be clean, and your engines stay together for the entire day! 🏎️💨

While the drivers are competing for trophies and championship points, our members will be standing by ready to assist if needed. Fortunately, our favourite type of race is the one where everyone goes home safely at the end of the day. 💚

If you’re heading out to the track today, come along and enjoy some fantastic racing. Just remember—keep hydrated, wear your sunscreen, and if you hear sirens, it should only be because someone set a new lap record… not because they’ve discovered the coffee van has run out! ☕😂

🏁🚑 VRA Rescue NSW Narromine Supporting Round 1 of the 2026 NSW State Series Championships 🚑🏁

Members from VRA Rescue NSW Narromine are on site this weekend providing medical support as the best drivers from across the state battle it out in Round 1 of the 2026 NSW State Series Go Kart Championships.

The momentum is building, the competitors are ready, and it’s time for the famous words:

“Drivers, start your engines!” 🏎️💨

We’d like to wish all drivers, teams, officials the very best of luck for a safe and successful weekend of racing. While the drivers will be chasing podium finishes, our members will be standing by to ensure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.

If you’re looking for an exciting weekend filled with speed, skill, and plenty of action, come on down and check out Round 1 of the State Championships. Just remember—the only thing moving faster than the karts should be the queue for the coffee van! ☕😂
