🚴‍♀️🚶🐴🌟 Beverley to Narrogin Trail Feasibility Study! 🌟🐴🚶🚴‍♂️

We are delighted to announce that the Shire of Pingelly as the lead organisation, along with the Shire of Beverley, Shire of Brookton, Shire of Cuballing, and Shire of Narrogin, have been awarded a WA Bicycle Network grant from the Department of Transport for the Beverley to Narrogin Transport Trail feasibility study! 🎉

This study will explore the potential for a 105km trail offering a fantastic cycling, hiking, trail running and horse riding experience through stunning natural landscapes and connecting our communities, making it possible to walk, cycle or ride to and from these towns. Pingelly as the midway point along this route would be the natural rest stop for refreshment and or accommodation. 🌳🚵‍♀️ The trail aims to link existing and planned trails as shown on the map below, completing a loop of planned trails rivaling the great Munda Biddi and Bibbulmun Track.

The funding obtained is for a feasibility study only, with no funding available for construction at this stage.

🚴‍♂️ CALLING ALL LOCALS, RIDERS & OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS! 🌟
It's time to MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! Community information sessions to discuss Narrogin Williams Rail Trail Study. The future of a fantastic new trail for cyclists and hikers along our disused railway corridor depends on YOU! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Whether you're a rider, a hiker, or just someone who loves Narrogin and surrounding districts Wagin, Cuballing (...Perth), your input is crucial in this important study.
🗓 Session Details:
• Date: Wednesday, 11 September 2024
• Times: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Location: John Higgins Centre, 50 Clayton Road, Narrogin
If we don’t show up, the funding for this incredible attraction might not happen. The Shire’s consultant hasn’t reached out to our local cycling reps, guess they’re ‘too busy,’ so it's up to people to make sure our voices are loud and clear we want new development. This is our chance – and it’s ours to lose. So, rally your mates, bring the family, and let’s pack the house!
🔥 Big shout-out to Chris Yates and his crew for their awesome work clearing debris off the mountain bike tracks – LOCAL Vollies including the boys J & J deserve all the applause! 🙌 And to our local businesses like ‘Narrogin Hay’ and ‘Wagin Hay’ that keep our MTB riders going strong – keep riding it up! ….Take it easy people and relax. I'm on crutches and not because of a mtb, last visit there is start of Oct, cheers people, my email, [email protected]. 🚴‍♂️ Exciting News for Mountain Bikers! 🚴‍♀️

We're thrilled to announce that the Narrogin to Williams Trail Feasibility Study is officially underway! 🌟 Our WCC club first proposed this idea to the Shire of Narrogin's CEO back in June 2020, and today, the Shire's media release has been published!

The proposed trail will follow the disused railway corridor between Williams and Narrogin, offering a unique and scenic route for riders of all levels.

Consultants will be on-site from July 2nd to 4th inspecting potential site to prepare the report, and we invite all mountain biking enthusiasts to stay tuned for an open session later this year where public support is measured. Please make your voice heard on this exciting project.

Stay tuned for updates from the Shire of Narrogin (yes, they have a page). Together, let’s create an amazing trail for our WA community. Show your support for the development to explore somewhere you would never think to wander! 🌟
P.S. Have you checked out the Novice Loop trail there which starts from Narrogin Railway Dam carpark, off Mokine Rd?

Wrapping up 2023 with gratitude and excitement for the incredible journey we've had! 🎉 This year, we achieved significant milestones, including the Cuballing Yornaning Dam and the revamp of the Narrogin Railway Dam MTB Trail. Huge shout-out to the dedicated volunteers who played a crucial role in making it all happen!
Our efforts extended beyond the trails—we supported rider skills sessions, handed over trails to both Shires, and collaborated with the community to upgrade the reserve that extended to planting edible Quandong trees. A special thanks to the volunteers and the few helpers who joined us in transforming the area into a fantastic MTB trail for the town.
A major highlight is the installation of the new Railway Dam trail board map, which is arriving at the same time as with the ready-to-use toilets and picnic facilities at the main car park. We couldn't have accomplished this without the support of the Shire of Narrogin, Darren West MLC , Shelley Payne MLC and our incredible team of volunteers. 👏
I also want to express heartfelt appreciation to Ivan Svenson , Dan Turner, WCC committee members and the entire MTB community who followed my posts. Your unwavering support and Likes to our page, even without having visited Narrogin & Cuballing, means the world to us. These trails are now yours, and we're grateful for the shared spirit and enthusiasm you've brought to our tracks.
As we reflect on the year, we've not just built trails; we've built a community space for riders of all ages to enjoy. Thank you, Volunteers, for being the backbone of this project. Here's to a successful 2023, and I look forward to reading about others adventures, who decide to take the reins and your mtb adventures and collaborations in the coming year! I’m off. Please contact local Shire offices for mtb track maintenance concerns or suggestions, See ya on the trails or on a Perth shared pathway! Michael C🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️
