Weโ€™re excited to share that the tank desilting component of the SEDS Agriculture Project has now been completed in Andhra Pradesh, India.

In this context, โ€œtanksโ€ are large, open community water reservoirs that collect and store rainwater for farming.

Across two villages โ€” Kalipi and K. Maruvapalli โ€” two of these reservoirs have been desilted, restoring vital local water storage for farming communities. By removing built-up silt, the tanks can once again capture and hold significantly more rainwater, improving access to water throughout the growing season.

In total, 8,740 cubic metres of silt were removed, restoring around 8.7 million litres of water storage capacity and enriching over 139 acres of farmland with nutrient-rich soil.
These community-led efforts support irrigation, livestock, and day-to-day farming needs, making a meaningful difference for families who rely on agriculture for both income and food security.

A big thank you to our supporters and partners who make this work possible. Your support helps deliver practical, locally-led solutions that strengthen long-term resilience.

Catch Up on Our Latest

The past few months have been filled with meaningful progress across Partners in Aidโ€™s programs and partnerships. Importantly, every project has been visited by a project coordinator recently, strengthening relationships with our partner organisations and giving us first hand insight into how your support is changing lives.

This edition includes updates from across our work:

โ€ข India (SEDS): Continued momentum in sustainable agriculture and water management, with farmers expanding vermiculture, tank desilting supporting rainfall-dependent areas, and ongoing impact through the Child Education Sponsorship Program.
โ€ข India (ABWU): The girlsโ€™ sponsorship program is entering its final phase as local support grows, with tailored education and vocational guidance for the remaining sponsored girls.
โ€ข Philippines (Sinangpad): Completion of all major Phase III activities, including community health development training and construction of new household toilets to improve sanitation.
โ€ข Sri Lanka (Y-Gro): Now in its empowerment year, with women building skills, increasing milk production and strengthening household incomes.
โ€ข Fiji (FRIEND): Community-based nutrition, cooking and backyard gardening training underway in two villages, with gardens already established and growing.

We also shared highlights from our AGM, welcoming our new Chair Silvia Hope and two new team members, Jennifer Rodriguez and James Koulouris.

Itโ€™s been a long time since we last posted here....A few years ago, we lost access to this page, but our work on the ground never stopped.
Over the past few years, Partners in Aid has continued to work alongside communities across India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Fiji, supporting education, sustainable livelihoods, health and food security through long-standing local partners.
Over the past year, this has included:
- Supporting farmers in India to improve soil health, water access and crop resilience through sustainable agriculture and tank desilting
- Working with communities in the Philippines to complete major phases of a Healthy Village program, including the construction of new household toilets to improve sanitation and dignity
- Supporting women in Sri Lanka to increase dairy production and household income through a women-led livelihoods program now in its empowerment year
- Partnering with communities in Fiji to establish backyard gardens and healthy cooking practices to improve nutrition and reduce reliance on processed foods

Weโ€™re really pleased to have access to this page again and to be able to share updates, stories from the field, and the impact made possible by our supporters!
Thank you for being here. We look forward to keeping you updated from here on
