💛 GATHERING FOR GORDY COCKBURN 💛
Our club along with South Narrabeen SLSC , Narrabeen Surf Lifesaving Club and community are coming together to support one of our own.
Gordy Coburn — a long-time and dedicated member of North Narrabeen SLSC and the Sydney Northern Beaches Branch — is currently unwell and undergoing chemotherapy. Gordy has given so much to Surf Life Saving through years of patrolling, training, assessing, competing and officiating… now it’s our turn to stand behind him.

Monday’s public holiday marked the final patrol of the 2025/26 season, and what a day to wrap things up. Dollies in the bay, Matt Blackburn receiving his patrol uniform, live music from Shore Break and 12:55, and a BBQ with plenty of snags to go around.

A huge thank you to every one of our patrol members who keep Southy safe, week in and week out. 🧡💙

We’re hiring a Club Operations & Venue Manager at South Narrabeen SLSC.
This is a hands-on role, combining venue management with admin and operations. You’ll help keep the Surf Club running smoothly while also growing our function venue and events.

Awarded for the commitment, enthusiasm and positive attitude they’ve shown throughout the season, setting a great example for our younger Nippers. You make Southy proud. So well deserved! 👏

🧡💙 That’s a wrap for Nippers! 🧡💙

A massive thank you to our incredible Age Managers (and Daz), water safety, beach set-up crew, BBQ and canteen helpers, families, and of course our Nippers for showing up each week and getting involved.

It takes a whole community to make Nippers happen and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make it such a great season. Congratulations to all our award recipients and well done to every Nipper who took part this year 🏆🏅👏

First patrol today! I passed my ART assessment in the week and joined Patrol 4 today for my first official patrol.

The perfect team to join. I spent the morning with Patrol Captain Brian Grundy going through all of our first aid, oxy and AED kits. And then lunch. There’s a reason this patrol are known as “The Gourmet Patrol”! Thanks for having me guys, a great day.

Brilliant afternoon well spent with CWA Manly at their annual IWD afternoon tea. I’ve been privileged to get to know these wonderful ladies through working together on Bush to Beach at South Narrabeen, and love that we support each other at our events.

Also loved chatting to Mayor Sue Heins and listening to Kirstie Clements style tips and tales from Vogue.

Happy International Women’s Day to all the wonderful women doing great work in Surf Life Saving, and far beyond.
