NAREMBEEN AUTUMN CLUB STARTING A NEW YEAR

Meeting Held 5th February 2026
Welcome back to Autumn Club 2026
We start the year on a sad note – the loss of our Secretary Rhonda Hickey.
Such a shock to us all. She was a genuine caring friend.
Condolences to her family.
Through the strength she brought to the team Rhonda had the amazing ability that inspired others. Nothing was an effort to her. She filled the Secretarial position professionally and handled all correspondence in a way that made correspondence a seamless process. Always ready to take part in any club activities from our OPEN DAYS to Bus trips and partaking in the Northam Aged Care Activity Games.
Thank you Rhonda for the countless memories and the unwavering spirit you brought to our club.
Though you left us too soon, we’ll carry your spirit in every step we take.
Your memory a treasure, loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Deeply missed by all.

PLANNING FOR 2026
As we kick into gear we are preparing for the Northam Aged Care Games held on Thursday 5th March, to get warmed up the CRC are having a practice session on Wednesday 11th February 10am. So come along, get those arms ready for the competition and bring home 1st prize.
All welcome, come and join the fun!

Narembeen Autumn Club sat down to Christmas lunch today.
How lovely it was for us to get together – sharing the Christmas spirit.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the preparation of the hall, the food and tables. A beautiful spread making our lunch so special.

Reflecting on the past year. WOW where did it go! It seems such a short time ago we were sitting down to our Christmas lunch 2024.

Since then, 2025 has been very busy. Blankets, Teddies, Beanies and more going off to our many beneficiaries.

Thanks to Rhonda Cole, Lou and Glenis Maringoni for delivering these parcels.
To Lou and Glenis thank you for collecting the many bags of wool from Mundaring – keeping our needles clicking along.

I would like to thank our members for their support throughout the year – all of which, I believe makes “The CLUB”. The friendship and companionship that we develop by being part of Autumn Club is very rewarding. I would also like to acknowledge the wonderful people from outside the club, who have contributed knitting and crocheting. All the help and beautiful work they do for us is very much appreciated.

Each year our Club endeavours to make a trip to another town in our region and our bus trip this year to Wickepin proved to be just as successful as last year's destination of Toodyay.
Libby Heffernan and assistants welcomed us to the ALBERT FACEY HOMESTEAD. We were shown through the building, built in 1924, furnished with items reminiscent of the period. Albert Facey wrote his life story “A Fortunate Life” which is recommended reading.
Plans for a bus trip in 2026 are under way – watch this space

Our OPEN DAY 2025 was held in the Recreation Centre which proved to be a huge success. In the past we have been fortunate to attract interesting Guests and this year was no exception. We were proud to host Fiona Watson an inspiring speaker -. Fiona gave a very informative and enlightening talk on the specialised work that she does as a midwife and her recently started charity “BEARY LOVELY BEARS”, providing a weighted bear for families who have lost their baby.
In 2024 Fiona was named Western Australia’s Midwife of the Year – an honour that reflects her deep commitment to the profession.
As we enjoy the festive season and look forward to another happy and productive year in 2026, I take this opportunity to wish everyone a joyous Christmas filled with love, happiness and prosperity.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Narembeen Autumn Club OPEN DAY
Yesterday Narembeen Autumn Club held a very successful “OPEN DAY” in the Narembeen Recreation Centre supported by our local community and visitors - some who had travelled long distances.
Devonshire Teas served while our guest speaker Fiona Watson gave a very informative and enlightening talk on the specialised work that she does as a midwife and her recently started charity “BEARY LOVELY BEARS”, providing a weighted bear for families who have lost their baby.
Thank you to the Narembeen Club, Livingston Medical and Lynda Cornish, representing Hurt to Help for their support. It has been very much appreciated.

With special thanks to all the volunteers who contributed so much to our Open Day. Funds raised $1,702.50. Fantastic effort.
