South Burnett Karate welcomed Mayor Kathy Duff to its Kingaroy facility to discuss a proposed Brisbane 2032 legacy project. With South Burnett Regional Council’s support, the club is preparing a State Government infrastructure grant submission to expand and adapt its venue to host fencing, creating new pathways for local youth and potential visiting teams.
The project aims to deliver broader community benefits through increased participation, health and wellbeing outcomes, and regional sport tourism opportunities. The club will work with Council and partners to refine scope, costings and timelines as guidelines are released.
