It is always cause for celebration to welcome newer members to our club. On Tuesday, Elizabeth presented member's badges to Karina Crosland and Judi Crowe. So happy to have you aboard ladies and may you have many happy years as members of VIEW. (To top off her day, Karina also won 2nd prize in our Mothers' Day raffle. That's how you do it, Karina!)

A big thank you to John Kemp for being our speaker at our Tuesday lunch this week, paying tribute to Anzac Day. John is a Vietnam veteran who joined the army when only 16 years old! John imparted a great deal of interesting information about the creation of the Returned Soldier's League which was formed back in 1916. Our own Nambucca RSL Sub-branch where we hold our lunch meetings, was founded in 1946 which makes this club 80 years old this year, and still going strong. We whole-heartedly appreciate the service of John and all our wonderful veterans.

Hi to all our wonderful members. If you haven't got your tickets in our Mothers' Day Raffle yet and can't make it to our lunch meeting. Some of our ladies are selling tickets at Nambucca Plaza on Friday 17th and 24th from 10am till 1pm. So if you are down there doing some shopping on either of those days, then grab your tickets while you're there. As always, there are some lovely prizes on offer and of course, every dollar goes to our work with The Smith Family, supporting those deserving Australian kiddies who need our help. Let's see if we can make this the best fundraiser raffle yet!

Hi Members,
To keep ourselves in the minds of local women, we aim to be doing regular posts promoting our club and the work of VIEW Club as regularly as possible on several local Facebook sites. To help us promote our club, if you see any of these pop up on your FB page, it would be really helpful if you would give a "like" and/or leave a comment to help boost the posts and keep them being seen. The sites we are currently using are Valla Beach & Surrounds Events, Nambucca Valley District Notice Board, Nambucca Valley Community Hub, Bowraville Buy, Swap, Sell & Advertise, and Nambucca Valley Community Notice Board. If anyone has any other great ideas, please feel free to pass them along to me at [email protected]. Your input is always appreciated. 😃

Recently a number of our ladies travelled to Woolgoolga to celebrate International Women's Day hosted by Woolgoolga VIEW Club. I believe thanks is owed to Sharon for all the terrific photos. I was unable to attend, and it certainly seems a shame to have missed it. However, I can spot Lyn, Margeurite, Catherine, Cynthia, Dina, Sharon, Jenny and have I missed anyone? Plenty of temptation was on offer for those with an urge to buy, from preserves to potted plants to jewellery and crafts. Well, who could resist? Colourful tables, speakers, plus a group of colourfully dressed young ladies from the local Sikh community to entertain. Woolgoolga, it looks like you made it a great day!
