What began as a small pilot program, with the hope of supporting 100 local children, grew into something far bigger than we ever anticipated.

Thanks to generous community support, we were able to fully fund and deliver our School Ready Program to 300 children and families across the Mid North Coast.

Across five program rounds, we created five evolving versions of the program, each one refined through direct feedback from families and early learning centres. Every round strengthened what came before it.

This year also saw new and ongoing partnerships with local preschools and schools, allowing the program to reach families where children already learn and grow.

In total, more than 3,300 educational and developmental resources were delivered directly into local homes, alongside a 16-week guided program supporting families to build confidence, understanding, and practical skills for school readiness.

This work was made possible through the generosity of donors, and delivered almost entirely through volunteer effort. Two of us committed hundreds of hours of our own time to bring this year’s program to life, with a little extra help from our families when support for the program tripled beyond our original goal.

Over the past 2.5 years, Young Minds Thrive has now supported 1,000 local children and families.

We are incredibly proud of what has been built, together.

As the year comes to a close, we wish our community a safe and restful end to the year and look forward to continuing to support local children and families through our School Ready Program in 2026.

We’re thrilled to kick off Round 2 of the 2025 Young Minds Thrive School Ready Program this Monday!

A warm welcome to all the new families joining us, especially those from Crescent Head Community Pre-school, our newest partner in preparing children for Kindergarten in 2026.

If you’re taking part in this round – keep an eye on your mailbox! 📬 All program resource boxes have now been posted and should be arriving this week.

We started 2025 with a bang – launching our School Ready Program and supporting 100 local children from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour with hands-on learning packs and weekly guided support.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ve had to push the start date back by two weeks. Our online School Ready Program will now begin on February 24th. When your box arrives, you’ll find instructions inside on how to join the private group - so keep an eye out!

- Interactive Learning Binder: A comprehensive binder packed with fun, hands-on activities covering early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional skills, motor development, and problem-solving—giving your child a strong foundation for school.

- Monthly Professional Support and Q&A Sessions: Join monthly live sessions with early childhood professionals to get guidance, ask questions, and learn more about supporting your child’s development. Each session covers school readiness milestones, learning tips, and ways to adapt activities to your child’s unique needs.

-Parent Community Group: Be part of a private group where parents connect, share insights, and support each other. This is a valuable space to learn together and build a network of local parents on the same journey.
