The Launceston Field Naturalists Club has regular field trips to study the many aspects of Tasmania’s natural history.

Most months of the year we have a meeting in Launceston where we invite specialist lecturers to share recent research findings and research projects.

Visitors are most welcome to attend meetings and field trips.

The Club owns 62 hectares of land at Myrtle Bank. The John Skemp Field Centre is located on this land. It provides overnight accommodation and may be hired by members and non-members just contact [email protected] . The property contains open grasslands, rain forest, wet and dry sclerophyll forest, and water features. These are accessed via 12 trails with a total length of approximately 5 kilometres.
