The Blak Arts Collective Pop-Up Gallery Shop Grand Opening is at 5pm on Thursday 15 October at Muswellbrook Marketplace, near the food court

Come along to discover and purchase original First Nations art, hear local stories, meet creatives, and enjoy music and a Welcome to Country.

Here is a sneak preview from two artists. The sculptures are by Ian Hawkins and the paintings by Montanna Odgers. Photos are courtesy of the artists.

The shop will also open 15–18 and 22–24 October, with demonstrations, talks, workshops and activities for all ages.

The Murrook Festival returns on Saturday 14 November 2026 and invites community to gather under the stars for an evening of celebration.

Hosted by the Worimi Local Aboriginal Council, the festival runs from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and promises an evening of activities that include music, dance, storytelling, food and fireworks.

The 2026 theme, MIRRIIYNDJA DALIGA “Under the Stars”, will see the Sand Dunes in Williamtown come alive, creating a relaxed atmosphere where people of all ages can experience, celebrate and connect.

Located on Worimi Country, Murrook Festival is free, with free parking and dedicated 4WD bus transfers to make travelling to and from the festival easy.
Further details will be announced in the coming weeks on Murrook Culture Centre's social media and website at www.murrook.org.au.

Dungog by Design is proud to present Floral and Steam by artist Cynthia Carolyn Denning for the month of October 2026.

Artist Statement
"Floral and Steam
I won my first art prize at 11 years old and have been drawing and painting ever since. In 1967 was my first serious tutoring with a Russian man named Pano, under his house with other mad painters. At the time I was a florist, which now gives me great inspiration for this exhibition.

I have worked with all mediums and have conducted many workshops in Melbourne, Sydney and Dungog, where I currently live.
I moved to the Hunter in 1990 and joined other societies, at present Dungog by Design and Dungog Art Society are my favourites.

This exhibition is Floral and Steam, a strange mixture, but my preferred subjects at this stage of my artwork. ''
