On the October long weekend, 3 scouts and a leader attended the 42nd South Coast and Tablelands Jamborette at Bengalee Scout Camp at Cambewarra, near Nowra. The Jamborette celebrated the 100th anniversary of scouting in South Coast and Tablelands. In generally awesome weather, the Murrumbateman scouts participated in a range of adventurous activities including abseiling, canoeing and a massive flying fox. Other activities included STEM/electronics bases, a commando course, giant games, Lego robotics and archery, to name a few. They enjoyed night activities too including stealth Nerf Gun combat and were also seen busting out some cool moves on the dance floor at the disco.
The Murrumbateman scouts joined a combined Dapto Unit for the camp, giving the scouts an opportunity to experience working in a patrol. On the last afternoon/evening we survived a massive wind storm and attended a very cool communal dinner with the whole camp. Thank you to SC&T for the invite and the wonderful leaders and scouts from Dapto who all made us feel very welcome.
