Last night members of Bendolba met at Clarence Town Station for an interagency training evening. The wet weather put a bit of a dampener on the original training plan but as usual a quick reset. Alex shared heaps of information regarding aviation awareness along with sharing a power point presentation. We then let off some flares as part of the practical side of the exercise. The bbq and slices were an added bonus. Thanks again for a really informative evening.

Our Brigade has been busy monitoring a farm burn overnight. As we finished at this incident at Salisbury today we were called to the Chichester Fire this afternoon along with Dungog. We assisted in a backburn to create a containment line. Brigades will return tomorrow to assist with this fire.
Please read the information below as it is really dry at the moment and we are seeing many burns uncontrolled.

• Do you really need to burn right now?
• Is the area around your burn cleared of vegetation?
• Do you have adequate water and equipment on hand?
• Remember to ensure someone stays with the burn until it is out.

Before lighting up, remember:
✅ Notify your neighbours
✅ Notify the RFS at least 24 hours prior: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify
✅ Follow Dungog Council’s open burning policy: https://www.dungog.nsw.gov.au

Last night members from RFS Bendolba Salisbury, Clarence Town, Flat Tops, Dungog, Eccelston and Wallarobba all met at Dungog Fire And Rescue Station 282 for an inter agency training session.
The aim of this training was to provide knowledge to each of us on how we can support each other, working together cohesively in a critical situation.
Captain Cass and her team talked us through what is on the Fire and Resue NSW truck, allowing opportunities to ask questions and familiarise ourselves where all equipment can be found.
Cass briefed us on the MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) scenario they had prepared, giving us the opportunity to be involved in assisting in safely removing a patient from the vehicle.
A huge Thank You to Cass and her team for conducting a great inter agency training session along with the BBQ and time to chat to finish off the evening.

Yesterday the Bendolba RFS crew were at the Oyster Cove fire near Medowie.
A successful day of mopping up and getting this fire under control. Smoke rolled in late in the afternoon from the Nerong fire north of Tea Gardens. Please stay up to date with these fires on Hazards Near Me or the RFS website.
Thank you to the crews we worked with and to all the wonderful volunteers putting in their time and expertise to make our communities safe. A special thank you to the Lions club for their sandwiches and to the local community donating food and snacks to keep us all sustained on the fire-ground.

Happy Australia Day..🇦🇺
Thank you to Dungog Council for inviting our brigade to cook a bbq at the Dungog pool. We spent time chatting to locals, being supported by Dungog 282 Fire and Rescue. It was an opportunity to look at their truck and equipment, very impressive, welcoming and a friendly crew! It was a pleasure to connect with others within our Community and share stories, especially some of those who were visiting from out of town. We hope
everyone is having a great Australia Day.
Thank you to all those at the pool and the staff who made us very welcome as well as enjoying a yummy sausage sandwich. 👏
