With a hot, dry and windy weekend ahead of us, we are urging the community to take extra care as the risk of fire is high across the state.

In collaboration with the CFS and MFS, increased police patrols will be visible in high-risk fire areas, taking a zero-tolerance approach to dangerous behaviour.

Please remember to:
- Avoid the use of high-risk tools. Tools like welders, cutters and grinders are prohibited on Total Fire Ban Days without a permit
- Do not stop your vehicle on dry grass or verges
- Avoid discarding cigarette butts while driving
- Use machinery safely and check the conditions before starting work
