Mundaring SES

Mundaring State Emergency Service has been extremely busy since Christmas with around 74 call outs. These have ranged from assisting Fire Services, major storm damage, followed by a missing person search.
🧡🧡Now we need help.🧡🧡
We are now looking for new members!
Residents of Mundaring shire or nearby areas and over 18 years old.
Members are all volunteers, with uniforms and equipment provided.
Must be available for training on Wednesday evenings or occasional weekend training sessions and call outs.
Training includes storm damage repairs, search, chainsaw, navigation, two way radio, 4wd.
There is also the opportunity to be deployed to assist in other locations during National Emergencies. Previous locations include Kalbarri, Fitzroy Crossing, NSW, Victoria and South Australia.

What an epic week for our Mundaring SES volunteers who have put their extensive training to use in a variety of circumstances over the last 7 days. Last weekend, our crews were working into the night to provide support with the fires in the Lower Chittering, Bindoon and Gingin area. Earlier this week, we had our teams working around the clock to see to more than 60 call-outs due to damage caused by the intense storm. A big thank you to Bassendean State Emergency Service Belmont / Victoria Park State Emergency Service and Swan SES for supporting our crew with such a massive workload. Lastly, our teams have spent the last few days supporting the Western Australia Police Force in the search for a local member of our community. We would like to thank everyone in the Hills community for your kind words, support and cups of coffee to keep us going this week!

Volunteer State Emergency Service members from the Mundaring unit, together with other SES units, have been assisting WA Police to search the vicinity of Mundaring for John who has now been missing for over 24 hours. We hope you have all stayed safe during this crazy weather! Volunteers have been attending to over 200 call-outs statewide since midnight last night. Our Mundaring crew have had an incredibly busy day and we still have some teams working into the night. 3 massive pine trees fell down on a property in Chidlow today. 2 of these landed on the house causing damage to the patio and corner of the house. Our crew cleared the roof and inspected for further damage. While there was quite a bit of structural damage, luckily everyone was safe and no one was injured.

Today members of the Mundaring Emergency Services met with Federal Minister Murray Watt - Senator for Queensland. Our members were able to discuss some of the issues, challenges, and opportunities in emergency management.

Last week, at our AGM, we said farewell to the incredible Lexie Toutoungis-Basley. Lexie has been a valuable member of this unit for the last 5 years and supported us not only on the front line, but behind the scenes in so many ways. From being a committee member, coordinating WOW day events, to running our social media and promotional campaigns, Lexie has certainly been a driving force that we will miss. We wish her all the best with her future endeavours.
