Our Joey/Cub Scout Leaders, Boobook and Carnaby recently completed a two-night training course at Mandejal in Karrakup with Scout leaders from across WA, building skills, sharing ideas, and learning new ways to support our youth program. ⛺📚
Ongoing training helps Mundaring Scout Group stay current with Scouting and education trends, so we can meet the growing needs of our youth, families, group, and community. 🚀
Volunteer support is so important because it helps us keep programs fresh, safe, fun, and sustainable. 🙌

🚆✨ World Scout Weekend adventures! ✨🚆
Our Scouts teamed up with Eastern Hills Scout Group WA for a big day out in the city, putting their public transport know-how to the test as they travelled from Midland Station to the Perth Mint for a guided tour. 🚌🚉🥇
Afterwards, the adventure continued with a scavenger hunt around East Perth, discovering new sights, solving clues, and clocking up plenty of steps along the way! 🔎👟
A huge thanks to Eastern Hills Scouts for the invite — we had an awesome day out! 🙌
And tonight? Time to swap train tracks for campfire snacks as we put our cooking skills to the test over the flames! 🔥🍳

Happy World Scout Day! ⚜️🎉🌈
To celebrate, Mundaring Joeys and Cubs got out and about wearing their scarves with pride this weekend — and wow, did those scarves go on some adventures! 🌿🥾✨ From Mundaring Weir and hikes through Beelu National Park 🌳, to rock hopping in John Forrest National Park 🪨, home STEM projects 🔬, beach trips 🏖️, caring for animals 🐾, relaxing walks 🚶, gardening in the sunshine 🌻☀️, bike riding 🚲, and even a magical visit to the world of Harry Potter 🪄⚡, our Scouts made the most of every moment.
And of course, what weekend would be complete without a trip to Bunnings for a sausage sizzle with our furry friends? 🌭🐾💚 We packed a lot in — and had a whole lot of fun along the way! 😄👏🎒 Scouts WA

🎉 Term 3 is officially underway, and we jumped straight back into adventure mode! Our Joeys and Cubs welcomed four awesome new members, sharpened up their flag ceremony and patrol skills, then got stuck into a classic outdoor superpower: knot tying! 🪢

Bowlines, reef knots, sheet bends and hitches were all on the menu — because knowing the right knot can help you secure gear, build things, set up camp and handle outdoor challenges with confidence.

Great teamwork and plenty of new skills — what a way to kick off the term! Bring on the next adventure.

Meanwhile, our Scouts braved the cold and dark for some orienteering, learning how to find north, read directions and follow a bearing with a compass. They did a fantastic job staying on route and made it safely back to the hall, all accounted for! 🧭

School holidays are nearly over! 😄🏕️ Mundaring Scouts are getting ready for an awesome Term 3, and the best part? Our program has been designed by our youth! 🌟🙌

Our Joeys, Cubs and Scouts have all been busy sharing ideas for the program 💡, our Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders have taken ideas from across the whole group to design a Term 3 program packed with activities taking into account everyone's ideas!
They came up with so many fun activities that Term 4 is already getting a head start! 🎉
