If you’re a Food truck vendor this might interest you. Prime venue, at least over the warmer months.
Contact Federation Council for details.

Im thinking early morning starts as it gets very hot later in the day. Early might mean tradie traffic as well.
Hmm, coffee and donuts, toasties, juices, icecreams, what do you think?

Huge news for the border communities of Yarrawonga and Mulwala! In a monumental win for our region, the Victorian Government has officially endorsed the ‘Green’ route as the preferred alignment for the new Yarrawonga-Mulwala River Crossing.

For the first time, all four government bodies - Federation Council, Moira Shire Council, and the Victorian and NSW State Governments - are officially aligned. 🤝

👉 Why this matters:

🟢 Unified Vision: This provides the certainty needed to move toward the design phase.

🟢Long-term Growth: The 'Green' route was identified as the most efficient option for our twin towns' future.

🟢Community Advocacy: This milestone is a credit to the years of persistence from local residents who never gave up on advocating for this vital transport link.

While funding is the next mountain to climb, having a single, agreed-upon path forward is the breakthrough we’ve been waiting for!

Thousands of campers across Victoria are being ordered to pack up and leave ahead of catastrophic fire conditions on Friday.

Holiday parks and riverfront campgrounds - including sites along the Goulburn and Murray rivers, Lake Eildon, the Grampians and the Great Ocean Road - are among those affected.

Forest Fire Management Victoria has warned that people must be out before 7am, stressing that it will not be survivable to shelter if a fire hits.

Large areas of public land will close, with rangers patrolling today and tomorrow to direct people to leave.

“It is not survivable if you are caught in a bushfire under those conditions,” said Forest Fire Management Victoria chief Chris Hardman.

“You will be killed before the fire gets to you under these conditions.”

⚠️ Abuse will not be tolerated ⚠️

We know times are incredibly tough – we see it every single day. We know many of you are doing it hard right now, and that sometimes it feels like there’s no way out.

But please remember: our volunteers are pensioners, neighbours, friends — and often FoodShare customers themselves. They show up week after week, giving their time freely to help others in our community.

Over the past few weeks, however, we’ve noticed an increase in abuse and poor behaviour. Let us be clear: abuse of our volunteers or staff will not be tolerated.

Right now, Moira FoodShare is spending nearly $1,000 a week on additional food to keep up with demand.

That’s money each week we have to find.

That’s why we have limits in place — not to be unfair, but to make sure we can help as many people as possible.

FoodShare was created to provide emergency relief, not a full weekly shop.

We ask for your understanding, patience, and cooperation so we can continue to be here for those who need us most.

Please — be kind, follow the rules, and let’s work together to ensure no one in our community goes hungry. 🙏

🍊 🍋 ORANGES AND LEMONS 🍊🍋

As I walked around Mulwala on this gorgeous sunny day, I couldn’t help but notice a lot of citrus trees laden with fruit, and lots more on the ground.
Wouldn’t it be great if we offered the fruit to others who would use it?
My suggestion is to either leave a bucket or box outside your home with a “FREE” sign, and/ or post on here with at the least your street name, people can go for a walk, just like a treasure hunt.
Any other surplus fruit or veg would be appreciated too I’m sure!
If you think it’s a good idea let us know! Sharings caring 👍🏼

Really pleased to see Moira FoodShare doing some amazing things and really striving to look after our community on both sides of the border.
Yes in case you didn’t know, if you are in need and live in Mulwala, please go and see this fabulous community group, we are sure they will welcome you with open arms and help you out!

Tonight we’re thrilled to share some incredible news.

Refrigerated freight from Foodbank Victoria to Moira FoodShare has been locked in permanently.

This means our rural and remote communities will have reliable access to fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat - essentials that should never have been out of reach.

When this vital service was cut nearly 12 months ago, it was a devastating blow to the people who rely on us most. We’ve advocated fiercely ever since, refusing to let rural Victoria be forgotten.

After initially trialling a new pilot program, Foodbank Victoria has heard us — and we’re grateful they’ve listened and acted.

As we’ve always said: we’ll never stop fighting for our communities.

We’ll keep turning up for those who can’t, and we’ll keep pushing until food relief is fair, accessible, and doesn’t depend on your postcode.
