The vegetation on Lot 1 is more than rare; it is home to Endangered rainforest ecosystems 🌴

Parts of the property contain rainforest vegetation with an Endangered biodiversity status.

Towering rainforest trees like the Hope's Cycad (Lepidozamia hopei), ancient palms and critical wildlife habitat still survive here, making Lot 1 an incredibly important place to protect 🌿

The Daintree Rainforest dates back around 120 million years, to the ancient supercontinent Gondwana. It is one of the oldest tropical rainforests on Earth, home to rare plants, threatened wildlife and living links to our planet’s past.

This is why we do what we do: to help protect irreplaceable rainforest before it is lost.

Tree planting is one way we help restore rainforest in the Daintree, but it’s not the only way.

We also use direct seeding, placing native seeds straight into the ground on restoration sites and giving them the chance to grow where they belong.

These are the seeds of the Black Bean tree (Castanospermum australe). Instead of growing them in a nursery first, they’ll be pushed directly into the soil, helping bring new life back to the rainforest from the ground up.

Simple actions. Long-term rainforest recovery!

The Ulysses Butterfly (Papilio ulysses) is one of the Daintree’s most iconic insects, famous for its iridescent blue wings that shimmer as it flies through the rainforest.

Despite their vivid colour, they can surprisingly disappear in seconds as they settle among the leaves with their wings closed, revealing a much darker underside.

Lot 1: a wildlife corridor for threatened species 🌱🐦️

This block connects upland rainforest to the west with coastal systems and mangroves to the east. It is a living corridor for threatened wildlife, including the Endangered Southern Cassowary, which was confirmed on this property during our February 2026 survey.

Before and after on Lot 93!

Once a road and 1,500 trees later, now a reconnected rainforest 🌿

This is what restoration looks like in action. Step by step, we’re helping heal old scars in the Daintree and bring rainforest habitat back to life.

The magic of the Daintree is often found in the small details 🌿✨️

The pattern of sunlight through ancient trees, new leaves unfolding after rain, the sound of water moving through the forest, or a cassowary disappearing quietly into the rainforest.

The Daintree invites you to slow down, look closer and notice the incredible life that exists all around you in one of the oldest rainforests on Earth.

Happy World Environment Day!

There is something truly magical about Lot 1.

Hidden in the Daintree Rainforest, this property is alive with ancient plants, rare species and the quiet movement of wildlife through the forest. During our survey, our botanist recorded an incredible 258 native plant species, including five listed as threatened.

Lot 1 is more than a block of rainforest. It is a living time capsule, a wildlife corridor and a chance to protect something irreplaceable.

With your help, we can protect this special place forever!

Feeling relaxed? We are, too!

The breathtaking Daintree Rainforest is one of the world’s oldest living ecosystems.

Its trees with ancient lineages, rich soils and dense biomass store vast amounts of carbon, while its rainforest canopy and understory provide habitat for more than 430 bird species, many found nowhere else on Earth 🌳

A pop of lilac in the rainforest 💜

The Blue Tongue (Melastoma malabathricum) is a rounded shrub that can grow up to three metres tall, producing beautiful lilac flowers up to 5 cm across. We spotted this one blooming on Lot 93 Cape Tribulation Road in the Daintree Lowland Rainforest, a now protected property!
