Introducing you to the club's brand new Minelab Monster 2000. Thank you Darren from Lucky Strike Gold Prospecting who helped contribute this amazing detector to the club. Used already by several members at the last camp, all have given the detector the thumbs up. Incredible sensitivity will have you finding gold other machines have missed!

Gold has reached a record high, climbing to $240 per gram. Strong safe-haven demand, inflation concerns, and global uncertainty continue driving prices higher.

Our Moonambel camp was extremely successful especially when it comes to gold finds. Biggest piece was a 17 gram solid chunk by one member, followed by a 15 gram by another. A 6 gram was also found, followed by a handful of 1 gram nuggets amongst others. A Free dinner was also provided which everyone enjoyed.

The Heathcote Melbourne Cup long weekend camp was well attended too. A free BBQ was hosted by the club and it's members were greatful. Some games and activities were held like 'stake your claim' with a $60 first price won by a lucky member. The weekend continued with a Halloween themed afternoon with lots getting dressed up and plenty laughs had. The camp finished off with us all going to a local Italian Pizzaria followed by delicious icecream.
Gold was found by a few lucky members. Everything from highbanking and panning to detecting was used to find some yellow.

The Club's Homebush camp was held last week finishing on Tuesday. Weather was pleasant, even warm with temperatures reaching the mid 20s on one day. Dry conditions with only less than 1 mm of rain. Another fantastic turnout with the campsite full of campers. It was great to have Peter Gazan back with us at camp after a 5 year absence. Some yummy food was cooked over the fire coals including damper, scones and apple crumble. Keeping the hungry tummies satisfied after the day's prospect. Gold was hard to get, with the largest nugget being a 3.2 gram nugget. We had members sluicing, panning and detecting all trying to find some of that precious yellow metal.

At last night's General meeting, we were fortunate to have Redarc along giving us an in-depth talk about it's latest products (and some yet to be released). They went through some important equipment, especially towing related safety. Thanks REDARC Australia for the well put presentation.
