Over the past few weeks, the cadets of 205 Australian Army Cadet Unit have been busy developing valuable fieldcraft and survival skills.

Training activities have included camouflage and concealment, learning how to construct shelters, and understanding how survival priorities such as shelter, water, and food can change depending on whether conditions are hot or cold. Cadets also explored how to assess a situation and prioritise tasks when things don't quite go to plan in the outdoors.

Despite the wet weather, our cadets showed great determination and resilience, successfully completing their physical fitness modules and continuing to build their teamwork, confidence, and leadership skills.

Well done to all cadets for their enthusiasm and effort throughout the training activities. We look forward to seeing these skills continue to develop throughout the year.

Congratulations to one of our staff members, Scott Whale on being promoted to 2LT.

Congratulations to one of our cadets on his promotion from Cadet Sergeant (CDTSGT) to Cadet Warrant Officer Class 2 (CDTWO2) within 205 Australian Army Cadet Unit – Mudgee.

This achievement recognises the commitment, leadership, and maturity he has consistently displayed throughout his cadet journey. Promotions to senior ranks are earned through dedication, personal development, and a willingness to lead by example.

As our regional unit continues to grow, it is rewarding to see cadets embrace the opportunities offered through the Australian Army Cadets program, building confidence, resilience, and valuable leadership skills along the way.

Congratulations, Cadet Warrant Officer Class 2 Pendlebury, on this well-deserved promotion. We look forward to seeing you continue to lead, mentor junior cadets, and make a positive contribution to the unit in your new role.

Cadets Eli Tate and Grace Mascord were promoted to the rank of Cadet Lance Corporal (CDTLCPL). Both cadets have proven themselves worthy of the role and were selected because of their hard work and leadership. They are now preparing for the next promotion course, the Cadet Corporal (CDTCPL) Course.

A big thank you to former Commanding Officer Lucic for recognising their leadership potential and giving them the opportunity to take on the role of CDTLCPL.

This past Tuesday 205 ACU Mudgee cadets participated in team building activities bringing all Mudgee cadets closer together while engaging in some fun activities. Two games played were tug-o-war and building the tallest tower using marshmallows and spaghetti. We were also cooked a BBQ by a visiting DAH from Dubbo.
Additionally one of our staff was promoted. Congratulations goes to 2LT Hanman.
We thank CPT Arnold for running these activities and making the night enjoyable for everyone.

*** ANZAC Day Parade – 205 ACU Mudgee ***

For the third and final service of ANZAC Day, the cadets of 205 ACU proudly took part in the Mudgee march at 10am from the RSL to the cenotaph for the service at Robertson Park.

Stepping off through the heart of town, cadets marched alongside veterans, current serving members, family and other local organisations, passing Mudgee’s beautiful historic buildings, supported by a strong and appreciative local community lining the streets. The parade concluded at Robertson Park, where all gathered to honour and remember those who have served.

The morning was rounded out with a fantastic lunch generously provided by Club Mudgee, giving cadets the chance to relax and reflect after a meaningful day of service.

205 ACU is proud to represent Mudgee on such an important occasion, continuing to strengthen the connection between our cadets and the community they serve.
