*** Term 2 Bivouac - Warrumbungle National Park***
Over the weekend, 205 Army Cadet Unit - Mudgee attended the 254 Army Cadet Unit - Coonabarabran bivouac at Warrumbungle National Park. Throughout the weekend, Mudgee and Coonabarabran cadets participated in a huge variety of field activities and fun games. From hiding in the bush (cam and concealment) trying not to be seen, to trivia night, there was always something happening.
Probably the most difficult thing we did all weekend was the hike up Split Rock Mountain โ definitely not a challenge for the weak! But once you made it to the top, the view was absolutely beautiful and completely worth it. The hike back down felt like a breeze as we followed the fire trail back to the carpark.
We were also lucky enough to stay at the Warrumbungle Environmental Education Centre, which had awesome facilities, great games areas, and a really cool firepit seating area where everyone could relax together at night. The night sky out there was incredibly bright and clear, and seeing all the stars was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend.
A big thank you to all the staff and volunteers who made the weekend possible, as well as for the fresh rations and ration packs provided throughout the bivouac.
We also thank 254 ACU Coonabarabran for inviting us for such an amazing weekend full of adventures and new friendships made along the way. The way all the cadets come together like weโre already old mates made it an absolute blast of a weekend.
