Join local slam competitor and writing teacher Hanna May for a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop helping you write something for our upcoming Poetry Slam & Open Mic Night.
You’ll learn:
• How to write poetry that sounds good out loud
• How to survive reading in front of actual humans
• How to make people laugh, gasp, or quietly rethink their existence
No experience needed.
No pressure.
No berets required.

$10 per person or donation

Thursday 18th June
Ready to battle using only metaphors and dramatic pauses?
OPEN MIC
Read a favourite poem, test new writing or share your own work with a supportive crowd.
POETRY SLAM
• Original poems only
• 2 minute time limit
• Audience judged using Australian Poetry Slam rules
• Winner receives a $100 Globe voucher and temporary poetic immortality
No props.
No costumes.
No interpretive dance.
No harmonica solos.

Kicks off at 6.30pm
All ages welcome — however performances may contain adult themes, existential crises and emotionally devastating metaphors.
