Tamar NRM

Tamar NRM Tamar Natural Resource Management (NRM) is a community-based organisation located in the Tamar Valley region of northern Tasmania. Our 'door' opened in 1998.

We developed the Tamar Region Natural Resource Management Strategy in 1999, which was last updated in 2022. Supported and encouraged by Launceston City, West Tamar and George Town municipalities we have played a significant role in promoting and managing a wide range of activities aimed at ensuring the Tamar Region is "an attractive and prosperous place to live and work based on a healthy environment".

Tamar NRM were very proud to launch the Kanamaluka Network today. As part of the launch we were thrilled to host Emily Flies, Senior Lecturer in Environment and Sustainable Communities at the University of Tas. Emily highlighted her teams research on the valuable connections between positive health and well being and spending time in nature. Thanks to Tamar NRM Vice President Brigid Morrison for officially launching the network and for everyone’s attendance.

It was great to spend a bit of time in the UTAS shade house potting on a variety of native plants for an exciting replanting project happening at the UTAS Inveresk campus. Thanks to Lars and Jeff for showing me the ropes, and the conservation and ecosystem management TAFE students for being such propagation powerhouses!!

50 Seats. No Jargon. Just Practical Farm Finance.

On Thursday 4 June, we are hosting a focused workshop in Longford, Tasmania designed for those who want to understand the real-world mechanics of carbon accounting and green loans.🌱

We have intentionally capped this event at 50 participants. We aren't interested in a crowded room; we want the right people in the room who are interested in direct answers from our experts:

Emily Roberts (West Pine Advisory) will show you how carbon accounting identifies productivity gaps that are currently costing you money.

Thomas Wright (NAB) will explain the practicalities of green lending and how it builds a more resilient balance sheet.

This is about ensuring your business is profitable and resilient enough to handle the changing financial landscape.

When the 50 spots are gone, they’re gone - so register today!

When: Thursday 4 June, 10:00am – 1:30pm
Where: Longford War Memorial Hall
Inclusions: Tea, coffee, and a light lunch

Our thanks to the NAB Foundation for enabling this small-group intensive for Tasmanian farmers.👩‍🌾
