WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY THE BUILDERS THAT THERE IS A DELAY IN THE MANUFACTURE AND DELIVERY OF MATERIALS. BECAUSE THE NEW SCHEDULE IS TAKING US INTO SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, SOME RESIDENTS WILL FIND IT DIFFICULT TO ACCESS SUITABLE AND AFFORDABLE ACCOMMODATION. PLEASE CALL STACEY IF YOU CAN OFFER ANY HELP.
👋 UNIT RENOVATIONS.
Now that the Expansion Project is complete, we have the opportunity to carry out much-needed improvements to the original units.
Most of our units are over 35 years old and maintenance is becoming increasingly costly and also harder to source when required. In some units we have found major water damage that could pose a risk if left unaddressed.
As a community owned and managed, not-for-profit organisation, we have a responsibility to act now while we can do it without direct cost to the Village or Residents. This decision ensure our Village remains safe, modern and financially sustainable for years to come.
As part of the upgrade, all the bathrooms and kitchens will be completely renovated to accessibility standards. The first seven units are scheduled for the end of October, and the remaining units will be completed once the first group is finished. Unfortunately, this means Residents will need to pack up their kitchens and bathrooms and temporarily vacate their homes (for around three weeks each) while the work is completed.
We truly value our Residents and want to make this transition as easy as possible for them. With that in mind, if you know someone who lives in the Village, please reach out to them - a simple act of kindness can make a big difference.
