🎁 Blazing Star Christmas Toy Run 2025 – Supporting Monash Children’s Hospital 🏍️🎄

The Monash Gully District Freemasons are proud to again support the Widows Sons Motorcycle Club for the annual Blazing Star Christmas Toy Run – raising smiles and spirits for the children at Monash Children’s Hospital.

Last year’s inaugural event saw riders from across Victoria cruise from Geelong through Ballarat, Romsey, and Mount Waverley before finishing at the Keysborough Masonic Centre — where a mountain of donated toys was handed over to brighten the festive season for kids in need.

This year, we’re aiming to make it bigger and better!

📅 Date: Saturday, 13th December
📍 Stops: Ballarat, Waverley and South Eastern Masonic Centres
🧸 How you can help: Unwrapped, new toys can be left in the Ladies Lounge at the Waverley Masonic Centre during any lodge meeting, or on Saturday, 13th December, before lunchtime.
For any queries or to arrange a pickup, please contact Lionel May on 0424 838 530. Every gift helps make Christmas a little brighter for a child at Monash Children’s Hospital.

Let’s keep the tradition rolling and make this Toy Run a highlight of the Monash Gully District calendar once again!

🧱 Discover the Origins of Freemasonry
Ever wondered where Freemasonry began? 🧐 Its story goes back to the medieval stonemasons who built Europe’s grand cathedrals and castles. 🏰 These skilled craftsmen formed guilds to protect their trade secrets and uphold high standards — the foundation for what would become one of the world’s most enduring brotherhoods.
🌟 From Tools to Teachings
Over time, these “operative” masons began to welcome those outside the trade — the “speculative” masons. 🧭 When the first Grand Lodge was established in England in 1717, Freemasonry evolved into a philosophical fraternity, using ancient tools and symbols to teach moral lessons about truth, charity, and integrity.
🌍 A Global Fraternity of Growth
Freemasonry soon spread across the world, attracting thinkers, leaders, and everyday people seeking purpose, friendship, and self-improvement. 🌿 Its ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity resonated with the values of the Enlightenment — and continue to inspire generations today. ✨
🤝 Curious to Learn More?
Freemasonry remains one of the world’s oldest and most respected fraternities, with lodges in almost every country. 🌐 It’s a place for men to learn, grow, and give back — guided by timeless principles and genuine brotherhood. 🔺 If you’ve ever wondered what lies behind the Square and Compasses, this is your invitation to explore further. 💬

🌟 This episode explores the core values that guide this ancient fraternity. Freemasonry isn’t a religion but requires belief in a Supreme Being, leaving the meaning of that to each individual member, fostering inclusivity across faiths. Key principles include Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth—promoting kindness, charity, and honesty. 🙌
🕊️ Freemasons are encouraged to pursue lifelong self-improvement, cultivating virtues like patience, justice, and prudence. The fraternity champions equality, tolerance, and ethical conduct, creating a supportive community that uplifts members and society. Through symbolic rituals, Masons learn to live virtuously and build strong bonds of fellowship. Dive into these timeless teachings and subscribe to FromTheQuaries.com

🌸 Facing breast cancer with strength and support! Since 2010, the Think Pink Living Centre, founded by two-time survivor Irene Hendel OAM and her husband David, has been a sanctuary for women and families. Offering free counselling, support groups, massage, education, and social connection, it helps navigate the emotional and practical challenges of breast cancer beyond medical treatment. Their Wig Salon, supported by a recent $18,310 donation from Freemasons Foundation Victoria and Monash Gully District Lodges, provides free wigs to boost confidence during treatment. 💗

🎗️ Hair loss can be one of the toughest parts of breast cancer treatment, impacting confidence and well-being, with wigs costing $300-$2,000—often unaffordable alongside $28,000+ in first-year expenses. The Living Centre provides around 70 free wigs annually, offering personal fittings to help women face treatment with dignity. Join us at the annual Pink Breakfast on October 5th, supported by the Widow’s Sons Masonic Motorcycle Group, to keep this vital support going! 🙌

🌸 A Heartfelt Thank You from the Think Pink Foundation! 🌸

In October 2023, our incredible community came together for a vibrant Pink Breakfast at Waverley Masonic Centre, raising an amazing $17,892 for breast cancer support! 💗 In March 2024, we proudly presented these funds to the Think Pink Foundation at their Living Centre in Docklands—a one-of-a-kind haven offering free psychological, emotional, and practical support to breast cancer patients and their families.

This generous donation will power the Foundation’s wigs program throughout 2024, helping restore confidence and comfort for those navigating their breast cancer journey.

About the Think Pink Foundation: Established in 2002, the Think Pink Foundation is dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients across Australia. Their Living Centre in Docklands provides a nurturing space with services like counseling, wig fittings, and wellness programs—all at no cost. Their mission is to empower patients and families with hope, care, and practical resources every step of the way.
