That's a wrap on yet another amazing term! Some of our riders have ridden for the very first time, trotted for the first time, cantered for the first time and we have learnt so much with the addition of the lovely Wendy and her wonderful horse Ringo.

We had so much fun with our easter themed day, there was easter egg hunts in the hay pile, egg and spoon racing, a very competitive game of Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt where it was an all in battle to see who could collect, steal and then return the most eggs to their barrel.

Everyone had a blast, even the horses got an easter treat of apples and carrots.🍏🍏🥕🥕

We’re back in the saddle for 2026! 🐎

​What a kickoff! Our first day back at RDA Ballarat was packed with action. Alan led the way on the cross-country jumps course, while others took to the field for some Horse Soccer and tested their precision with our "Knock ‘em Down" blocks.

​We are so excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to welcome our new riders to the family!

​When: Thursdays (during school terms)
​Time: Between 8:30 am until Midday
​Where: Drop in and see what we’re all about at 6 Rose Hill Road (new show grounds!)

Well thats a wrap for RDA Ballarat 2025 with an amazing Christmas Party done and dusted for another year!

We had showjumpers, archers, the coaches trying their hand at this terms musical ride and we even had a visit from Santa!

Was a fun day with all our amazing volunteers, riders and family coming together to enjoy all the entertainment and as always great food.

Farewell to Our Beloved Moses

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear horse, Moses — a treasured member of our RDA family.

Moses was our hoist horse, a role that demanded 100% trust, calmness and a truly special temperament. He gave it all without hesitation, quietly and faithfully helping so many riders experience the joy of being in the saddle.

He was also a true character — always happy to follow everyone around, especially when the steering was questionable!

A faithful servant, a kind soul, and an absolute legend — Moses will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Thank you, Moses, for everything. Rest easy, old friend. 🐴❤️

Mikael and Lucas have a bit of a rivalry going on at the barrel racing this term with both confidently having a go off lead spurred on with lots of encouragement from our volunteers!

Here we have the late wonderful Bill Rinaldi and Crackers representing the Ballarat Pony Club at the highest level
at the eventing state championships.

Who would know that some 18 years later Bill and his dad would begin one of the greatest community services ever seen in Ballarat. Unbelievably it's still happening today, 47 years of a gift that would never have happened if not for the Rinaldi families kindness.

We are truly blessed to still have the use of 10 wonderful horses and the family truck to deliver a safe and happy environment for riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy the physical and emotional love a horse brings.
