The Tamil Association of Western Australia (TAWA) is the oldest and one of the most active Tamil community organisations in WA, established in 1979 to preserve, promote, and celebrate Tamil language, culture, arts, and traditions among the Tamil diaspora. Tamil Association of Western Australia also known as TAWA, has been in existence for over 40 years and continues to actively promote the harmoni

ous integration of Tamils together with the Tamil language and our cultural heritage. and its membership is comprised of migrants from India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Fiji, Mauritius, South Africa and so on. The common unifying factor has been the Tamil language, culture, arts and cuisine and these themes continue till today to be TAWA’s success factors in integrating the Tamil people from all walks of life in Western Australia.
