🌟 Mount Perry Show Society is proud to host the 2026 Burnett Sub-Chamber Finals event in June, where the Burnett representatives for the 2026 Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards and the Queensland Rural Ambassador Awards will be announced. 🌟

The Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards celebrate young women who are passionate about agricultural shows and the communities behind them. It’s not about stage presence. It’s about leadership, connection, and becoming an ambassador for the show movement across Queensland 🤝

From local shows to Sub-Chamber judging, and ultimately the State Final at the Ekka, the program creates opportunities to grow confidence, build networks, and share the stories that make our shows unique ✨
Many past entrants speak about the friendships formed, the skills gained, and the deeper understanding of what agricultural shows mean to regional communities. It’s a pathway that opens doors and strengthens the future of our movement 🌻

Nominations are through your local show - get in touch about when to nominate 📣

If you know someone aged 18 to 28 who represents the spirit of community, agriculture, and service, this is the moment to encourage them forward. Sometimes all it takes is someone saying, “You should give this a go.” 💬
We’d love to see representatives from across Queensland stepping into this opportunity.

✨ Celebrating our 2026 Mt Perry Showgirl Tori Brown ✨

Despite the postponement of our 2026 Mt Perry Show, we are still actively involved with the Burnett Sub-Chamber as this is Mt Perry's year to host the Showgirl, Rural Ambassador, Dark Rich Fruit Cake, and Next Generation ANZAC Biscuit competitions.

We are proud to announce that Tori Brown will be Mt Perry's representative in 2026!

To celebrate Tori's contribution, we are hosting afternoon tea at the Federal Inn on Saturday 18 April at 2.00pm. If you would like to join us, please RSVP to [email protected].

We have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2026 Mt Perry Show.

Behind the scenes, there are many hours of effort and decisions that go into holding a Show. As we now manage the trusteeship of the Showgrounds and all associated operating costs, the Mt Perry Show Society must operate like a business and our priority is to protect our long-term sustainability.

Recent steep increases in the cost of hosting Show Day – particularly the cost of transporting the animals and equipment we need to run our competitions and events, as well as powering the grounds – have placed a large strain on our annual budget. We have no guarantee about whether these costs will continue to increase in the coming weeks leading up to our Show Day, making it difficult to predict the final cost against our forecast income.

Our small team of volunteers has been planning this Show for the past 12 months and this decision was not made lightly.

Our aim will always be to provide a celebration of our local community for our local community, and we will be looking for future opportunities to host community events at the Showgrounds.

Mt Perry Show Society Members and Life Members now receive reciprocal membership to other participating North Burnett Show Societies.

This means our low annual membership fee of $15 per person now includes entry to the Gayndah, Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, and Biggenden Shows, as well as our own!
