It’s GAME TIME! 🔥🏐

Our Allsorts Pythons are taking on Te Whānau Tautoko in the Junior Division 1 Semi-Final this Wednesday, 2nd September at 6:00pm! 💪

These young netballers have worked hard all season and now they’re just one step away from the Grand Final! 🏆

We want to see as many Allsorts supporters and friends down there as possible to get behind our junior team! 📣🙌

Bring your voices, your cheers and your Allsorts spirit! 💜🩷

Let’s fill the sideline and make it rain purple and pink while we make some noise to get our juniors through to the finals!

It’s time to recognise the amazing people who help make Allsorts Netball Club the club it is! 🩷💜

🌟A LITTLE ABOUT OUR OTHER AWARDS 🌟
All of our other awards are team-specific awards and are voted on within each individual team by coaches, team captains and players.
These two awards are different — they are about recognising someone who has made a positive impact across the wider Allsorts club, not just within their individual team.
So, think about the people who have supported you, encouraged you, volunteered their time, created opportunities, helped others or simply made your Allsorts experience better this year. 💜

We are now accepting nominations for two very special awards:

🌟 SPIRIT OF NETBALL AWARD 🌟

This award recognises a player, coach, umpire or club member who is a positive influence within our club.

Someone who:

🩷 Helps make netball enjoyable, fun and fair for everyone

A huge congratulations to our Allsorts senior and junior teams on making it through to the quarter finals! 💜💗💙💛

🐍 Junior Div 1 – Allsorts Pythons
Our Pythons have finished 4th on the ladder out of 6 teams and will take to the court next Wednesday, playing for a spot in the semi-finals! 👏🏼

💜 Senior Div 5 – Allsorts
Our Senior Div 5 team has finished 1st on the ladder and will play next Thursday to see who goes through to the Grand Final! 🎉

What an amazing effort by all of our players! The hard work, commitment and determination throughout the season has paid off, and we are so proud of you all. 🥰

We can’t wait to get behind you, cheer you on and support you all next week on your finals journeys! 📣💜

💙💛💗💜 UMPIRЕ APPRECIATION WEEK 💜💗💛💙

This week, we celebrate the people in the white shirt who often don’t get enough recognition — our umpires! 🏐👏

Umpiring is so much more than blowing a whistle. It takes knowledge, concentration, fitness, confidence, communication and courage to make decisions in the moment while having players, coaches and spectators watching every call.
To all the umpires who give up their time each week, continue learning, support developing umpires and step onto the court ready to do their best — thank you! ❤️

And to our newer umpires who are still learning and finding their confidence: remember, every experienced umpire was once a beginner. Keep learning, keep asking questions and keep backing yourself. 🌟

At Allsorts, we are incredibly passionate about developing our umpires and creating an environment where they feel supported to learn, improve and enjoy their umpiring journey.

So this week, let’s show our umpires some extra appreciation! 👏🏐

Respect the whistle. Support the umpire. Appreciate the person behind the white shirt. 💙💛💗💜

A friendly reminder as we head into our final game for fixtures and begin our Finals rounds.

At ALLSORTS we never approach an umpire at the game unless you’re the team captain and if you are the captain you speak with respect and follow the rules of approaching an umpire. Asking for rule clarification not criticising their umpiring.

We also do not approach umpires that are U18 without the umpire coordinator, a committee member or someone over 18 who is there to be able to support them if they need it.

📣 WHEN YOU TAKE THAT WHITE SHIRT OFF…
There’s something we need to remember when we step back onto the court as a player, coach, parent or spectator.
When you’re wearing the white shirt, you have the responsibility of seeing the game from an umpire’s perspective — making decisions in real time, without the luxury of seeing every angle or every piece of contact.
But when you take that white shirt off, you no longer have the full-court vision an umpire has.
And you now have a vested interest in the outcome.
You want your team, your child, your club or your mate to win.
That’s okay. ❤️
What isn’t okay is forgetting to respect the person still wearing the white shirt.
Our umpires are out there making hundreds of decisions, often in a matter of seconds, doing their best to keep the game fair, safe and moving.
So maybe we need a new rule around the courts:

📣 UMPIRES WITHOUT WHITE SHIRTS SHOULD BE THE BIGGEST CHEERLEADERS FOR THOSE OF US STILL WEARING OURS!
👏 Encourage them.
👏 Support them.
👏 Help them develop.
👏 Celebrate them for having the courage to step onto the court.

We need more umpires — and the way we treat the ones we have will determine whether the next generation wants to pick up the whistle.

Take off the white shirt. Put down the bias. Back the whistle. ❤️

Young netballers aged 5–17 years can join us for a FREE 90-minute clinic, with skills and drills focused on passing, defence, agility and shooting.

And it doesn’t stop there! Stick around after the clinic to meet the players, grab a photo and get an autograph 📸✍️
