Vale – Thomas John Davison
12Sep51 – 13Aug26

It is with a heavy heart that we advise that Tom passed away peacefully with his son Phill by his side in Townsville one week ago today.

Tom served with the Australian Army from 6Sep71 – 6Sep78 primarily at 4 Camp Hospital as a RACT Driver and at Middle Head, Sydney and Townsville. He was a proud member of the RSL Mount Isa Sub Branch and really enjoyed his time at our events and commemorations. Here is a story about how Tom became a member - https://www.northwestweekly.com.au/rsl-membership-drive-proves-successful-2025-04-30

Tom was a very proud Irish Australian man who immigrated to Australia in 1970. He came along to the 2026 St Patrick’s Day event at the Mount Isa Irish Club. Tom was quite ill and in hospital right up until the last minute before the event, but he was determined to come along, and he had a wonderful evening.

On Vietnam Veterans Day we recited the Ode of Remembrance and held a minutes silence for him. A friend Lee made sure that he had a Pint of Guiness at the table he would have been sitting at. Tom’s remains have now been cremated, and Phill will be travelling back to Mount Isa tomorrow with his ashes.

We will be holding a gathering in the Bill Hilton room in a few weeks time due to some key absences from town at the moment. We will advise when that will be at a future date. If you have any photos of Tom, fond memories or funny stories we would really appreciate it if you could email them to [email protected].

Tom will be dearly missed by his friends at the Sub Branch.
