After a year of uncertainty, the Mount Isa Rodeo has made a strong financial comeback, posting a $750,000 profit from this year’s event.

👉 Around 18,000 people came through the gates over the weekend.

💰 The event cost $1.5 million to run - $700,000 was covered by sponsorships (not including in-kind support).

Board Chair Mark ‘Thommo’ Thompson said the results mark a big milestone for the event’s first year back after entering voluntary administration in 2024.

“To keep that much in the bank after the rodeo, it’s just amazing. Without the local support, that wouldn’t have happened, and all the sponsors,” he said.
