𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧? 👶
Thanks to the Dr Sue Charlton AM Memorial Sub‑Fund, fully subsidised neonatal hip screening is now available for infants aged 0–14 days through 1 Stop Paediatric Services in Mount Gambier.
Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) can often be identified early, allowing simple measures to be put in place before more significant issues develop later in childhood. Early diagnosis and advice can help prevent more serious consequences associated with late identification.

No referral or appointment necessary.

The service includes assessment by an experienced physiotherapist and ultrasound screening by a sonographer, with results discussed directly with families.

Together, we can ensure more Limestone Coast babies have access to early screening and the best possible start in life.

Through the Dr Sue Charlton AM Memorial Sub‑Fund, fully subsidised infant hip screening is now available for babies in Mount Gambier through a partnership between Stand Like Stone Foundation and .

Sue advocated for hip scans in the first two weeks after birth to give children the best possible start in life through early identification, prevention and intervention. By removing financial barriers and increasing awareness, this initiative has the potential to help local babies access support at a critical stage of development.

What makes this particularly special is that the generosity of our community is now being transformed into a practical and sustainable benefit that will continue to support families well into the future.

This initiative also represents an important milestone for Stand Like Stone Foundation as the first project delivered through our Community Charity Trust, demonstrating how community foundations can work alongside partners to directly activate local solutions to community needs.

A huge thank you to the Charlton family, 1 Stop Paediatric Services and everyone who contributed to the fund. Together, we are ensuring Sue's passion for children's health continues to make a meaningful difference.

After 14 years serving the Limestone Coast, the Mount Gambier Farmers Market will continue its commitment to local food, sustainability and community through a contribution to Stand Like Stone Foundation's Limestone Coast Environmental Resilience Sub‑fund.

Loneliness affects people at any age, but can be particularly challenging for older members of our community.

Stand Like Stone has joined the Ageing Well Impact Community, a national collaboration bringing together community foundations and partners from across Australia to strengthen connection, participation, belonging and purpose for older people.

Here in the Limestone Coast, we know the value of strong communities, supportive relationships and people looking out for one another.

Over the coming months, we'll be working with local organisations and community leaders to explore opportunities that build on existing strengths and help older people remain connected, engaged and valued members of our community.

We look forward to contributing to this important national effort, led by The Wicking Trust and Community Foundations Australia, and seeing what can be achieved when local communities work together to create lasting impact.
