Discovery Community Care, Mt Evelyn Victoria Discovery Community Care offers community programs and is a place of belonging for all to contribute to a thriving community.

Discovery Community Care is a place where people can come along and get involved in various community activities. We love to help people, but we are passionate about helping people to help themselves in an empowering way. Our Community Art is a low stakes art space where people can enjoy social connections and practice mindfulness. All resources are provided. The Community Garden is another great

space where people can experience social connections whilst being rewarded with seeing the fruits of your labour. Discovery Community Care hosts a community lunch on Wednesdays, all are welcome. We have some wonderful cooks who share their love of cooking with the broader community. As an organisation, we are encouraging those who have received food assistance over the years to find a way to become a contributor in the space to help keep the cogs turning for all that we are doing. Our aim is to make this a safe place for people to feel they can belong and contribute. Feel free to come and check us out.

We’re back for Community Initiatives this week at Discovery Community Care

Join us for:
🍽️ Community Lunch – Wednesdays, 11:30am–2pm
🎨 Community Art – Thursdays, 10am–12pm
🍎 Food Relief – Wednesdays, 3pm–6pm (no appointment needed)

Please note: Food Relief is now available on Wednesdays from 3pm–6pm for those who previously attended on Thursdays. Arrangements remain unchanged for those joining us for Wednesday lunch.

✨️Today was all about celebrating Christmas with the community we have journeyed with over these past 12months! ✨️What a joy-filled celebration! 😍🙏
✨️We have lots to be grateful for even in the midst of some of life's curve balls and challenges.
✨️What a team of volunteers!! Who faithfully show up, week in and week out 🫶
✨️What a beautiful community, who show up, week in and week out. It's like the old fashioned Sunday roast, where family met regularly as a touch point for connection. 😍
✨️ Hearts are filled, stomachs are well fed 😂 and people's overall well-being, especially mental health, has improved as we have gathered around the table this year!!

Discovery Church will be hosting their annual Christmas Carols on Saturday, 20th December, and we can't wait to celebrate together!

There will be three session times: 1pm, 3pm and 5pm, each surrounded by a fantastic range of activities, food and festive fun for all ages.
This year the kids activities are free as they are proudly sponsored by the Community Bank Mt Evelyn

Come along to our Mount Evelyn location, at 89 Monbulk Rd.

✨️ It really is a privilege to create a space for connection to help people overcome social isolation. In a day and age where isolation has become the norm instead of the exception.😩
What a beautiful community, who have grown together, and journeyed together this year and now look out for each other beyond our organised community lunches.🙌🥰
They genuinely care; visiting each other in hospital, catching up for BBQs in the park when we are closed, stopping to say hello at the local shops. 🙏😍
✨️Knitting the fabric of our community together, for the well-being of our region. 💕
