The Mount Burnett Observatory's "Bubbly Beneath the Stars" will be held again this year on the 14th of February, for couples seeking a magical and romantic night beneath the stars.

On this special evening the Universe is yours.
Enjoy a welcome drink and nibblies upon arrival, with as many photos as you desire throughout the night!

Have an up-close and personal look at our telescopes as our experienced guides es**rt you around the Mount Burnett Observatory facility.

Hear about the past, present and the future of the Observatory.

START TIME: 8pm until 10pm

DATE: Saturday the 14th of February

DURATION: Two (2) hours

TICKETS: $150.00 per couple

LOCATION: 420 Paternoster Rd, Mt Burnett.



TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

One (1) drink voucher per person (Vouchers are not transferable)

No one under the age of 18 will be admitted. Physical ID showing proof of age is required at the gate or entry will be refused and ticket price forfeited.

Digital ID will not be accepted.

Any cancellations within 72 and 24hrs will be refunded the cost, minus $30 per couple.

Cancellations with more than 72 hrs notice will be refunded the total cost, minus a $10 admin fee.

Cancellations within 24 hrs notice or less are non-refundable.

Our Halloween Special public viewing night held last week was a great success, with many fun moments and memories made. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and the skies cleared a little to allow for some viewing of the moon and Saturn!

There were also many amazing and spooky costumes! Congratulations to our costume winners!

A huge thanks to our volunteers who gave their time to help make the night a special one, and to all our guests who help keep our Observatory up and running with their support!

This was in our weekly mail out but we think it deserves reposting. Hugely impressed once again with the MBO team at the Belgrave Lantern Parade. The crowd was huge, the night was cold and clear - pretty much perfect for Winter Solstice!

Belgrave Lantern Festival – Another Great Success!
A huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers and Young Observers and their families who helped make the Belgrave Lantern Festival another great success for MBO! You were all very brave coming out on such a very cold night, but the lanterns shone bright and the MBO lanterns were once again a huge hit with the crowds. Our merch table was well visited, and the telescopes and Merv’s ‘machine’ drew large crowds and long lines. A special ‘Thank you’ to those who stayed on to help with the pack up.

It was a cold and frosty night, but our cabin was cosy. Not only did we have an excellent speaker - the fabulous Duane Hamacher, but we managed to check out the scopes and introduce some new members to the night sky. In the background, our team was also working on getting ready for the Belgrave Lantern Parade.

Next month we have a special Public Night at the Observatory! "Bubbly Beneath the Stars" is a Valentine's Special Event for couples, where you and your partner can experience a romantic night beneath the stars.

Tickets will go on sale on the 16th of January.

The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. We are on the slide to the end of the year.

If you are starting to look for astronomy themed gifts for friends, family or even yourself, the 2025 Almanac is a great start! It's $32.95 (with a discount for MBO Members). The Almanac will guide you through a whole year of stargazing and inspire you and all around you.
