Today the Joey’s decided to go tobogganing, dress up in warm clothes and make snow ❄️ and build snow ⛄️ people. What else do you do when it’s 12 degrees 🥶 sometimes the leaders have just as much fun 🤩 coming up with these programs as the youth do participating in them 😁 Alpine Level 1 ✅

The Plantagenet Scout Group would like to thank everyone who stopped and brought a cake or two, a raffle ticket or a plant or even just gave us a donation at our Wood Raffle and Cake Stall at the IGA. Congratulations to Mark who won the trailer load of wood and to Jim who won second prize of a gift basket. Both from Kendenup!

Yesterday the Joey Scouts with a few Cubs and Scouts were privileged to go to Twin Creek Conservation Reserve and learn about it’s history, the sculpture and also to find some insects 🐜 in some leaf 🍂 litter with thanks to Judy and Bo from Friends of the Porongurup Range. We did one of the walks totalling 3 kilometres a great opportunity to introduce the younger Joey’s to bushwalking without climbing in the Porongurup Range. Some went home, while the others stayed to eat their lunch and enjoy the beautiful weather and surroundings. Thanks also goes to Moose, Goanna and Flagpole.

Darryl volunteers with the Mt Barker Plantagenet Scouts as a Cub Leader and also supports the Mt Barker RSL Sub Branch.

After more than 20 years in the Army, Darryl remains passionate about supporting Mount Barker RSL Sub-Branch and staying connected with like-minded people, while also helping young people develop and grow through Scouts.

“Be nice to everyone. Focus on what you can do. You can’t change the world, but you can change a little bit of it.”

NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK

Today the Joey’s got to use the Radio & Technology kit from Perth. They made Wigglebots 🤖 and had a go at Morse Code which they all thoroughly enjoyed.
