Moulamein - best hunting and fishing town in NSW Locatged in a rice growing region of the Riverina, Moulamein is a fantastic place for duck hunters. Moulamein is the oldest town in the Riverina.

Moulamein is a small town in New South Wales, Australia, in the Wakool Shire. At the 2006 census, Moulamein had a population of 349 people. The town is located between Balranald, Hay, Deniliquin and Swan Hill, at the junction of the Edward River and Billabong Creek. The name Moulamein is derived from a local Aboriginal word meaning "the meeting of the waters". The climate of this area is semi-arid

, and the area is rich in birdlife such as waterfowl, wedge-tailed Eagles and emus. This area also has quite a lot of kangaroos.

Aparently the professional protester Laurie Levy still has a boycott on Deniliquin, but no-one has noticed. He doesn't ever show his face around here and the duck hunters have been having a good time on the rice.

The price of water of about 50% higher this year compared to last year, so it looks like not as much rice will be planted. That might put more pressure on rice from ducks eating crops.
