Latrobe City Business Chamber

Virtual Reality is already changing the way businesses train, develop and protect their people. On Wednesday 29 July, you can experience it for yourself.

The Latrobe Valley is one of only 21 communities across Australia selected to host the nbn Virtual Reality Roadshow—and we do not want local businesses to miss this opportunity.

Join the Latrobe City Business Chamber and nbn Co for an interactive evening where you can:
Experience Virtual Reality firsthand
See how VR is being used for safety, onboarding and skills development
Take part in an interactive customer aggression training experience
Explore practical ways emerging technology could benefit your business
Connect with other business owners, managers and professionals

This is not a technical presentation or a sales pitch. It is a practical opportunity to try the technology, see how Australian businesses are using it and consider what it could mean for your workforce.

Whether you manage staff, oversee training, operate a customer-facing business or are simply interested in what is coming next, this event is worth attending.

Registrations are currently lower than we would like, so we are asking our business community to get behind this unique event.

Bring a colleague, encourage your staff to attend and help us demonstrate that regional businesses are ready to engage with new ideas and emerging technology.

Please register today and join us on Wednesday 29th July, 6:00pm - 8:30pm at Moe Racing Club
89 Lloyd Street Moe

This morning, Advance Morwell’s Graeme Sennett and Alfi Prestipino joined State Opposition Leader Jess Wilson MP and local Member Martin Cameron MP for Morwell and Danny O'brien , on a walk along Commercial Road to discuss the ongoing impact of antisocial behaviour on the Morwell community and local businesses.

During the walk, Graeme and Alfi emphasised that while many businesses remain committed to investing in Morwell, persistent antisocial behaviour is placing increasing pressure on traders, staff and customers.

They explained firsthand, examples of vandalism, shoplifting, property damage, intimidation, and other forms of disruptive behaviour that continue to affect confidence in the town centre.

Calling for stronger action to improve community safety and restore confidence in the area, they outlined the importance of increased police visibility and a stronger police presence within the CBD to deter offending and provide reassurance to residents, workers and visitors.

They also discussed the need for stronger penalties and meaningful consequences for repeat offenders, particularly where criminal behaviour is having a significant impact on local businesses and community wellbeing.

These themes were repeated at a subsequent meeting with local business representatives, where Graeme and Alfi that community safety is critical to Morwell’s future growth and prosperity, and that residents deserve to feel safe when shopping, working and spending time in the town centre.

Advance Morwell remains committed to advocating for practical solutions that support local businesses, strengthen community confidence and make Morwell a safer and more welcoming place for everyone.

The walk provided an important opportunity to demonstrate these challenges firsthand and reinforce the need for action from all levels of government.
