Latrobe City Council is considering a request to discontinue part of Old Melbourne Road and part of Toner’s Lane in Morwell.

We’re inviting community feedback before any decisions are made.

With free public transport being used heavily in Victoria this month, there has been an increased demand for parking around train stations in Traralgon, Moe and Morwell.

To help keep things running smoothly for everyone, please make sure you’re parking in designated all-day parking areas when commuting.

👉 Traralgon:
• South side of the railway station via Queen Parade
• Top levels of the Seymour Street multi-storey car park (112 all-day spaces available)

👉 Morwell:
• South side of the railway line at the east end of Commercial Road (84 all-day spaces), opposite Harvey Norman

👉 Moe:
• North West Corner George St and Saviges Road Moe opposite Super Cheap Auto (81 spaces available).

🚗 Help us reduce congestion by leaving short term spaces free for quick visits and shopping trips.

Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for three Community Engagement Groups, bringing together people with lived experience and strong community connections.

We’re looking for up to 30 community members to join the:
• Cultural Diversity Community Engagement Group
• Positive Ageing Community Engagement Group
• Disability Access and Inclusion Community Engagement Group

Members will share their insights and experience to help inform Council plans, priorities and future focus areas.

If you’re passionate about supporting a more inclusive, connected community and have an interest in cultural diversity, positive ageing or disability access and inclusion, we encourage you to apply.

⛈️ Hang tight for heavy rainfall! ⛈️

Large parts of the State, including Melbourne, are in for a battering today as a slow-moving storm impacts central and eastern districts from late this morning and into the afternoon.

It might seem sunny in some areas for now, but don’t be fooled by the early morning sunshine.

Around 40-70mm of rain is possible in some areas, with a serious risk of flash flooding that could cover roads and damage homes.

People out and about today are urged to drive to the conditions, allow extra travel time and stay alert for hazards such as fallen trees, downed powerlines and floating debris.

Our Victoria State Emergency Service volunteers are ready to respond when and where they are needed. Call 132 500 if you need assistance.
