This week, we opened the doors of our new office at 29 Church Street Morwell, welcoming community members and partners into our space.

It was a great day of connection, with meaningful conversations flowing throughout the day. We also shared an update on the progress the Assembly has been making behind the scenes as a not‑for‑profit health promotion charity, and we’re pleased to officially launch our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, outlining our shared priorities for the next three years.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support community‑led health and wellbeing initiatives across Latrobe 🤍

The theme for National Volunteer Week 2026 is a call to action to make this Your Year to Volunteer to help create lasting, positive change.

So we asked our long standing Board Member Ange Gordon to share why she volunteers her time to support the Latrobe Health Assembly.

"Volunteering with the Latrobe Health Assembly makes me feel like I’m genuinely contributing to my community in ways that can create positive impacts for a diverse range of people — especially those doing it tough, and for generations to come. I would like to feel that leading by example can help motivate others to volunteer in whatever capacity they are comfortable with." - Ange Gordon

The Latrobe Health Assembly proudly thanks all our amazing volunteers. Your time, care and commitment make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our community. From sharing your skills to supporting programs and strengthening local connections — we couldn’t do this work without you. Thank you.

💜 Today marks the first day of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month 💜

As part of the awareness month, a candlelight vigil is held each year on the first Wednesday in May to remember lives lost to family and domestic violence, and to stand with those impacted🕯️

Each candle represented a life taken too soon — a powerful reminder that even one loss is too many. We also recognised the strength and resilience of survivors.

In Latrobe City, family violence rates remain higher than the Victorian average. Through the Latrobe Health Assembly, we are committed to listening to our community, advocating for change, and working alongside partners to improve safety, wellbeing, and access to support.

Thank you to Rod Finlay from Victoria Police and Sonia O’Keefe Quantum Support Services for the work you do, for sharing your knowledge and reinforcing that help is available.

Together, by continuing these conversations and taking action, we can create a safer and more supportive community for everyone💜

In an emergency, always call 000.

If you need assistance for family violence, please call:
Safe Steps on 1800 015 188. @ chat links are also available via their website.

For sexual assault assistance, please call:

We LOVE seeing our Hello. T-shirts out in the community!

Yesterday our Chair Tanya helped with a colour fun run at her children's school with Friends of St Paul's Traralgon where she spotted a Hello. Shirt!

Early Learning Centre Director Fiona Mcdonald
said "she loves wearing her Hello. shirt out in the community and on holidays because it sparks a conversation".

We think the colours are a wonderful addition to the shirt! 🌈👋☀️

Thanks Fiona!
