It's Wednesday and its Open Day. Come down to our rooms from 11.00am-2.00pm and view our Pioneering Northway Family Exhibition as well as other displays. Why not stay for our member's gathering at 2.00pm which is open to members, friends and the general public. Exhibition Launch, The Northways Family, Morwell Historical Society

What a wonderful day celebrating the launch of the Morwell Historical Society’s Northways Family Exhibition!

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed their time, knowledge and passion to bringing this exhibition to life. From the hours of historical research and uncovering family stories to creating the displays and helping make today’s launch such a success, your efforts are truly appreciated.

Preserving and sharing our local history helps keep the stories of the people and families who shaped our community alive for future generations. It’s thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, researchers and supporters that we can continue to celebrate Morwell’s rich heritage.

The exhibition opens to the community from tomorrow, 21st October, through to December.

We warmly invite everyone to come along, explore the Northways family story and discover a little more about the history that has helped shape our town.

Thank you again to everyone involved, your contribution has made this exhibition possible, and we look forward to sharing it with the community!

It's here. Open House Latrobe. In the program below you will see over 30 collaborators all over the Valley that are taking part.

The Morwell Historical Society are excited to be part of Open House Latrobe and will be open from 10.00am-2.00pm today and tomorrow. Come and see how history is preserved. Take a trip down memory lane and have a look in our beautiful historic building.

We are also having a street walk at 11.00am each day but bookings are essential. To book follow the link

Have you been to our rooms? Never thought about it or it may have been a while. Whatever your answer its time you came down to see what displays we have and chat to our friendly volunteers about your connection to Morwell. From early school photos to post war settlement and power production in the Valley, we have something for everyone. You can also purchase a variety of our local history books or our locally produced DVD ‘Morwell Past and Present’ and take home a piece of local history with you. These would make great Christmas presents for the person that has everything. We are open tomorrow, Wednesday 7th October 11.00-2.00pm.

Can’t get down tomorrow? We are open this Saturday and Sunday 10th and 11th October 10.00am-2.00pm as part of Open House Latrobe. If you would like to take part in our Historic Street Walk on the Saturday or the Sunday at 11.00am bookings are essential. There is less than a week to go until we celebrate with over 30 other local collaborators - Open House Latrobe. Our rooms will be open Saturday 10th October and Sunday 11th October from 10.00am-2.00pm. We will also be carrying out a Historic Street Walk around Morwell C*D at 11.00am each day. Bookings for the walk are essential so follow the link below, check out the many places open over the Open House Latrobe weekend and make a booking for the walk before spots run out.

Have you booked your ticket yet for our Historical Town Walk as part of Open House Latrobe. Bookings are essential and numbers are limited so look up Open House Latrobe | Open House Melbourne search Morwell Historical Society and book your tickets. The walk will be held at 11.00am both Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October and our rooms will be open each day from 10.00am-2.00pm. Make sure you put the date in your diary and come along and see what's inside our beautiful historic building.

Due to the Grand Final Long Weekend we will be closed tomorrow Sunday, 27th September. Our volunteers will have a well earned break and will be back in October for their Open Days on Wednesday 7th October, Wednesday 21st October and Sunday 25th October.

October is History Month and we have a few extra Open Days. More details to come. Have a great weekend everyone and hope your team wins.

We are open tomorrow Wednesday, 16th September from 11.00am-2.00pm. Not sure what’s behind the doors of our former Masonic Lodge? Come down and look for yourself; you will be presently surprised. Have a look around and stay for a cuppa, some light refreshment and a chat with our volunteers in our Step Back in Time Conversation Cafe. Hope to see you there.
