🚪REGISTRATIONS CLOSED

We are now closing registrations for the Cultural Food Festival in September.

Community response has been overwhelming since we posted the announcement on Monday. We asked for people to RSVP and the lists filled up so fast to our amazement.

We apologise that we aren’t able to accommodate everyone who are still messaging to book in. Hopefully in the future we will be able to do this again.

Thank you all to those who registered. We will see you on the first community lunch on September 1.🙏

❤️VOLUNTEER POWER❤️

If you’re craving for something sweet our foodbank is the place for you!🍯

Thanks to our lovely Stirring Stories ladies for rolling up their sleeves yesterday and creating something for the community. Together they made 13 jars of delicious lemon butter spread and 20 containers of rumballs and no-bake lemon coconut slices.

Stirring Storries are part of the Grow Hub Project where we ask backyard fruit tree owners to donate their excess fruits. Our volunteers turn them into food that goes back to the community for FREE through the foodbank.

This is our simple way of preventing food wastage and at the same time addressing food insecurity across our community through the participation of volunteers. It’s community helping community through community!❤️

If you are a fruit tree owner please reach out to us if you wish to donate. Our volunteers are happy to harvest them for you.

CULTURAL FOOD FESTIVAL
📣We have an important announcement.📣

There will be no community lunch next month. Because we're having four!
For four Tuesdays in September the Morwell Neighbourhood House is hosting a Cultural Food Festival featuring native cuisines from four ethnic groups in our community. These are Filipino, Sudanese, Rohingya and Italian.

This event is made possible through the Regional Multicultural Festivals and Events Fund of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. We were thrilled to receive this grant as this will allow the House to offer four community lunches featuring ethnic cuisines in September.

This is a good opportunity for the general community to try native cuisines and engage the different ethnic groups in Latrobe Valley. Volunteers from these groups are themselves doing the cooking to honour their cultural practices. The Sudanese and Rohingya lunches will be entirely halal food.

All these lunches are FREE however you have to RSVP the house by calling us at 5134 5488 or writing to us via Facebook Messenger and letting us know if you are attending any or all of these four community lunches.
